Our quick take
Pentax MX-1 - 4.5 / 5
Bold as brass
No nonsense
High IQ
To recap
It’s a case of beauty and the brick: the Pentax MX-1 may be a hefty chunk of a camera, but it delivers decent image quality from its 28-112mm f/1.8-2.5 equivalent lens, is practical to use and has a battery life that just won’t quit. It’s not going to suit all by any means on account of its size, and lacks the shiny technological bells and whistles of some more modern cameras but otherwise its performance is just as hardy as its build.
