ReedPop and Penny Arcade plan to host the PAX East, PAX West, and PAX Unplugged gaming events in 2021. Given that show organizers are hopeful the COVID-19 pandemic will slowly subside, they’ve announced prospective dates later in the year for in-person events that follow official health protocols.
PAX East is set for Thursday, June 3 through Sunday, June 6 at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center, and PAX West 2021 is scheduled from Friday, September 3 to Monday, September 6 at the Washington State Convention Center in Seattle, Washington.
Meanwhile, PAX Unplugged is slated to begin Friday, December 10, and go through Sunday, December 12 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Since PAX South typically takes place much earlier in the year the organizers have decided to wait until 2022 to plan their next event, while dates for PAX Australia are expected to be announced soon.
Every year, the PAX series of shows draw countless international video game publishers, developers, and content creators that participate in panels, esports competitions, live demos, and forthcoming game release presentations. Attendees get to experience new game reveals and exclusive previews, as well as enjoy community gaming areas, and much more.
“While we look forward to hosting shows in 2021, we are first and foremost members of the local communities in Boston, Philadelphia, and Seattle, where we call home,” said Kyle Marsden-Kish, PAX Event Director. “We care deeply for the health and safety of our amazing attendees and industry partners who have brought PAX to life for 17 years. We are cautiously optimistic about improvements in the global COVID-19 situation next year, but we are carefully monitoring the situation to make sure PAX only proceeds if deemed safe to do so.”
Tickets will be available for PAX East, PAX West, and PAX Unplugged 2021 in the near future. Announcements for the 2021 lineup of panels, exhibitors, and other PAX-related events should follow.
