Grinding Gear Games has been on a roll recently with the release of some outstanding looking cosmetics, artwork, and the newest patch for Path of Exile. For starters, patch 3.11.1 was deployed earlier in the week for PC and will be available for consoles any day now.
The new patch brings major changes to both Harvest and its crafting. Tier 2-4 and the Heart of the Grove monsters and bosses will now drop plantable “seeds” for use in the Sacred Grove. These have a greater chance to drop based on the rarity and tier of the opponent faced, so be sure to tackle the highest-level content possible to maximize a drop chance. Working in teams to this goal is highly beneficial as well, as each time a seed drops, there is also a chance for an additional seed of the same type to go to all present party members.
For Harvest crafting, most improvements are aimed at improving the overall user experience. This includes changes like doubling the odds of acquiring Tier 2 seeds from Tier 1 Harvest monsters and making higher-end drops like Wild Infestation Queen Bulbs, Vivid Devourer Bulbs, and Primal Reborn bulbs only drop from monsters that are level 68 or higher. Readers can click here for the full patch notes, as there are several other smaller improvements of bug fixes relating to Harvest.
Community Director Bex_GGG recently shared some great-looking concept art relating to the Harvest microtransactions. The artwork looks fantastic and gives insight into the creative process for some of the best-looking cosmetic sets in the game. This includes the Dark Magic Armor set, including magic wings, and weapon skin. There is also the Dreadspire Amor Set, including the Dreadspire cloak, portal, and weapon skin.
Bex_GGG also responded to an ongoing community concern regarding inconsistencies in certain mods. There are also a few display issues in the advanced mod display. The good news is that Grinding Gear Games is aware of the problem and hard at work on a solution, but the bad news, for now, is that there is no official estimate on when a fix will be rolled out.
Lastly, the developers have released a brand new skill effect for both Sunder and Earthquake, and also a weapon skin that works well with the Dark Magic microtransactions that launched in mid-June.
