Panzer Paladin, the retro 2D action-platform game from Flinthook devs Tribute Games, is out now on PC and Nintendo Switch. Inspired by titles including Mega Man, Bionic Commando, and more, Panzer Paladin offers a modernized take on a classic gaming format that’s certain to please. Panzer Paladin retails for $19.99.
In Panzer Paladin, players take on the role of a powered armor Squire named Flame, climbing into their Paladin suit Grit to take on powerful occult foes. The Netherworld has sent its weapon keepers, spread across 17 stages, to take over the world. It’s up to Flame to take it back.
The core feature of Panzer Paladin is its unique customizable weapon system. While using their Paladin armor, the player can wield an assortment of weapons acquired from defeating foes. The weapons are unique in interesting ways, and can even be destroyed to cast a spell. Players will even be able to customize weapons using a simple in-game editor to give their Paladin a bit of flair.
While there are plenty of great games launching in July, with Ghost of Tsushima hitting PS4 and a new Paper Mario on Switch, Panzer Paladin offers a unique and polished alternative. It even comes with awesome features like a Speedrunning mode, leaderboards, and a remix mode that changes every level and ups the difficulty. It’s a great option both for retro game fans and otherwise.
Panzer Paladin is available now on PC and Switch.
