Results from a study held in March this year reveal that a relatively significant number of people (1 in 10 to be exact) would rather give up some seriously valuable belongings than see their video game save data erased. We all relate to the nightmarish dread associated with losing one’s save data for a game that we’ve sunken tens if not hundreds of hours into. While that may be a prevailing sentiment amongst gamers, surely most wouldn’t go so far as to say they’d rather have their house get completely demolished than deal with the tragedy of losing all progress in their beloved games....

In the past, developers Illfonic Games and Gun Media have rolled out patch notes for their survival horror title Friday the 13th: The Game in places like its Steam page, official social media accounts like its Facebook page, and even through posts in appropriate game-related Reddit forums. Now, it appears that the devs have made the switch to publishing notes exclusively on the game’s revamped website. The most recent release came earlier this weekend in an extensive list of notes for a Friday the 13th: The Game update that doesn’t yet have a release date....

At the moment, Dragon Ball fans seem to have their attention focused squarely on the upcoming action-RPG Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, which adapts and fleshes out the first few arcs of the DBZ anime. The release of Square Enix’s NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139 is fast approaching, and with this, new information has come out regarding the title’s PC release. Steam’s upcoming games page has revealed the system requirements to play NieR Replicant on one’s computer, and fortunately, the specs aren’t too intensive. NieR Replicant is a remaster of the 2010 PlayStation 3 game NieR, overhauling both the visuals and combat while retaining the same story. Snippets of released Replicant gameplay have shown that the visual overhaul is immense, bringing the game up to par with its critically acclaimed successor, NieR Automata....

For anyone who had trouble remembering the differences between The Outer Worlds and Outer Wilds, the line between the two games is continuing to blur as Obsidian begins hiring on new writing staff. To be clear, The Outer Worlds is Obsidian Entertainment’s award-winning RPG from 2019, while Outer Wilds is a hit 2019 title by indie studio Mobius Digital. The new hire is none other than Kelsey Beachum, a game writer and narrative designer who began working at Mobius Digital in 2015 and had a leading role in the writing for Outer Wilds’ award winning story....

The Outriders Inventory Wipe bug is officially a thing of the past. People Can Fly today released a patch on Steam, Epic, Xbox and PlayStation that ensures the nasty bug will no longer rear its ugly head. The update doesn’t directly address players who have already suffered from the issue – but the developer is hard at work on the Inventory Restoration process. The restoration process does not require a patch, so it’s possible your missing gear will magically reappear in your inventory within the next few weeks....

For Overwatch fans, the wait for more PvE content is finally over. With the game’s Uprising event, Overwatch has introduced a new 4-player co-op PvE mode where players choose between Mercy, Reinhardt, Torbjorn, or Tracer to stop an Omnic uprising on the King’s Row map. Set seven years prior to the start of the game, Uprising is Tracer’s first mission with the Overwatch team, as the four of them work together to stop Null Sector, the terrorist Omnic group leading the uprising....

Overwatch’s Archives event may have ended less than two weeks ago, but Blizzard’s already moving on to the next big thing. A trailer for 2018’s iteration of Overwatch’s Anniversary event through the official Brazilian Overwatch Twitter account leaked online on Friday. The Anniversary event started in 2017, celebrating the online multiplayer shooter’s launch in May 2016. The trailer features Junkrat and Roadhog dancing, showing off a variety of Legendary Skins, and also mentions a May 22 start date....

Over its four years as a staple of the hero shooter genre, Overwatch has remained a stable game, rarely seeing game-breaking bugs due to Blizzard’s consistent updates. However, when a major issue arises it is usually tied to the hero D.Va, and a new invincibility glitch continued this tradition, with Blizzard needing to temporarily remove the tank from Overwatch as it worked on a fix. Recently, members of the Overwatch team at Blizzard participated in a Reddit AMA, revealing a variety of interesting details about the game. One fan asked which Overwatch character the team would like to see appear in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate if Nintendo ever approached them with the opportunity, and two characters in particular came to mind for the team. If Overwatch game director Jeff Kaplan had his way, Tracer would be the Overwatch character added to Super Smash Bros....

Grinding Gear Games announced Path of Exile’s next expansion – Expedition – will arrive on July 23. Not only does it include 19 new skills to experiment with, but it also reintroduces the popular Royale Mode last seen in 2018. Unfortunately, market saturation and a bombardment of releases in the series by Activision not only killed Guitar Hero, but did its part in killing mainstream interest in virtually all of the music game genre. However, with the launch of a new generation of consoles comes opportunity to revitalize the relatively dormant genre....

Mortal Kombat 11 has been regularly updated with new characters, events, and even a major DLC pack since it launched over a year ago, and it appears all that work has paid off for NetherRealm. Today, Creative Director Ed Boon revealed that the game has sold an insane number of copies, proving just how much life the franchise has in it. Over on Twitter, Boon stated that Mortal Kombat 11 has sold 8 million units and counting, and while that doesn’t make it one of the best-selling games of all time, it’s still a massive number of units sold for the fighting game....

Mortal Kombat 11 is now available worldwide, offering up one of the franchise’s most impressive fighting game rosters ever. Yet as robust as the roster is, NetherRealm wasn’t able to make every possible character available at launch. Some Mortal Kombat favorites, like Reptile and Sindel, are missing altogether. Others, including Cyrax, Sektor, and new character Kronika are already in the game but are unplayable. At least, they were unplayable up until Mortal Kombat 11 modders got ahold of the game....
