The ever-evolving shooter experience that is Overwatch got another big boost this week in its latest update. After spending about three weeks on the Public Test Region (PTR), the highly requested Free-For-All and Team Deathmatch modes have finally been added to the main game inside the arcade. Deathmatch pits eight players against each other in a free-for-all style mode with an Overwatch twist to the scoring system. One point is awarded to the player that manages to land the killing blow, though players will also lose a point for killing themselves with environmental of self-inflicted damage....

Mortal Kombat 11 game director has a habit of teasing fans on Twitter, and that’s exactly what he did on September 1. Tweeting to his near 600,000 Twitter followers, Ed Boon stated, “I see a tease in our future….” without further elaboration. The official Mortal Kombat 11 Twitter account then responded to that tweet with a meme of Liu Kang trying to decipher what Boon could possibly mean by the statement, as it lacks any other details beyond that a new “tease” is coming....

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is announcing details surrounding its latest Zombies map. Not only is new information being released ahead of schedule, but the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War map itself will be playable much earlier than expected. The Trails franchise of Japanese roleplaying games is one of the most popular series in the genre over the past 20 years. Trails is also unique in that its still being actively developed, unlike many JRPG franchises from 20 years ago. The Trails of Cold Steel saga concluded in 2018, though the western localization was shipped just last month. It seems that developer Nihon Falcom isn’t going to be content to end things there, as the company has now confirmed that it plans to release a new Trails game in 2021....
