With Outriders, Square Enix and Bulletstorm developer People Can Fly deliver a brand new looter shooter experience to rival games like Destiny, The Division, and Warframe. While it’s still too early to tell just how this online experience ultimately compares to the games that have come before, it does have one major thing in common with other titles in its genre: launch day server problems and performance issues. Server issues are pretty much par for the course when it comes to live service titles these days....

People Can Fly has shared a bunch of new details about the Outriders launch, including the new preload and launch timings. Outriders is coming out on April 1, 2021, for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Google Stadia, and PC. At one time a holiday 2020 release, Outriders has since moved away from the likes of other RPG looter shooters such as Destiny 2: Beyond Light, Godfall, and even the free next gen upgrade for Borderlands 3. The latest trailer for Outriders not only shows off more gameplay elements, but reveals the new launch date of February 2, 2021, which should give it enough breathing room to help the game stand out from the rest of the crowd....

The esports organization Method has crumbled over the past few days under the weight of the many disturbing allegations against team member Josh. Co-founder Scott “Sco” McMillan chatted to supporters of Method on Twitch to outline how the backlash has affected his mental well-being. The new Blade Runner Enhanced Edition’s cutscenes are looking way better than the original’s. We’re still waiting on a release date for Nightdive Studios’ latest project, a remastered version of the original 1997 adventure game Blade Runner. Called Blade Runner: Enhanced Edition, Nightdive will take the original source code and pass it through its proprietary KEX Engine to turn it into something that resembles a modern video game. Whereas the original game would have been lucky to render its cutscenes at 15 fps on 640x480 resolution, Blade Runner Enhanced Edition will hit a full 60 fps at beautiful 4K....

When Borderlands 3 was officially announced, Gearbox dubbed 2019 the year of Borderlands. This seems to be the case, especially considering Borderlands 2 and The Pre-Sequel recently hit peak numbers on Steam. And with the release of a remastered version of the original Borderlands, many are playing through the games again in preparation for the threequel. Mangamo, a new manga subscription service, is hoping to capitalize on the demand. Mangamo is available now on iOS devices, soon to be available on Android, and even has a two-month free trial. There’s a new Saints Row game in development. For realsies. There’s a lot of Saints Row going on right now! Then we had news that Saints Row: The Third was getting remastered for the Xbox One, PS4, and PC platforms. Expect better graphics and a full package of DLC–hence the name, Full Package Edition....

New Super Lucky’s Tale is a 3D platformer initially released for the Nintendo Switch in 2019, and later ported to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. While the cost of the Sony and Microsoft versions seem to be the same as of this writing, the Switch release of New Super Lucky’s Tale now has a permanently reduced price tag. The bright and cartoony platformer was previously $39.99 on the Nintendo console, but that price has been reduced to $29....

For seven years, developer Remedy Entertainment has made games, namely Alan Wake and Quantum Break, exclusively for Microsoft platforms. But that is set to end with the developer’s next unannounced game. In a blog on its website today, Remedy says that its next game, codenamed P7, will release on a “wider range of platforms,” and the studio specifically mentioned the PlayStation 4 being one of them. Remedy also says its next game is using the Northlight engine, which powered last year’s Quantum Break....
