In an entertaining coincidence, Naughty Dog, the developer who once included a nude code in their 1991 game, Rings of Power, is now apologizing for complaints that the studio included working phone sex line numbers in The Last of Us. The fan-favorite game developer is taking a break from relishing in critical praise (read our review of The Last of Us) and exploring sequel ideas, to address allegations Naughty Dog overlooked a pair of telephone numbers - hidden among the numerous photos, billboards, paper headlines, and other environmental details which help sell the title’s post-apocalytpic setting - that, when called, connected curious players to working phone sex operators....

Embracer Group isn’t backing away from its plans to snap up even more developers it seems. The THQ Nordic parent company recently issued 36 million new Class B shares that it expects to draw in around 7.6 billion SEK, which is roughly $890 USD. What does Embracer plan to do with all that cash? CD Projekt Red showed off a bunch of new Cyberpunk 2077 gameplay during its latest Night City Wire Special Episode. The game was running on both Xbox One X and Xbox Series X – and the differences between the two probably won’t surprise you. The stream began with a look at Xbox One X, with V driving through Night City. The footage than transitions to Xbox Series X – and the jump from current-gen to next-gen is just as dramatic as you’d expect....

Sundered is an upcoming metroidvania game with what looks like a great deal of promise. A newly released game trailer from Thunder Lotus Games finally offered details on the launch of the game, which will take place on July 28th for Windows, Mac, and Linux PCs as well as PS4. Sundered showed up as one of E3’s best indie games this year, with a dark cartoon style, smooth action animation, and the nostalgic feel that comes with any game in the metroidvania genre....

Sony’s new Worldwide Studios website is a grim read for Killzone fans as the game is strangely absent. Killzone is one of PlayStation’s most established series, with six titles spanning across three generations of consoles. However, since Killzone: Shadow Fall’s launch alongside the PS4 in 2013, there has been barely any news of a potential sequel on the PS5. In fact, Sony seems to be actively distancing itself from the franchise altogether....

Nioh 2, the Souls-like Action-RPG prequel from Ninja Studios, has recently been released on PC and PlayStation 4. In 2011, the game development studio Robot Entertainment released its first full title Orcs Must Die! on PC and the Xbox Live Arcade. It was a unique take on the tower defense genre that brought its players to ground level where they could battle back the titular orcs alongside a number of unique traps placed throughout an often winding, enclosed space. Outlast 2 was banned in Australia last week after the upcoming game was refused classification by the Australian Classification Board, causing much debate among Aussies disappointed to be missing out on one of the most highly anticipated horror games of the year. But now, the same Classification Board that banned the game has apparently had a change of heart, and Outlast 2 will release in Australia after all. Outlast 2 was originally banned under the board’s Games 1(a) ruling, which is given to titles that “depict, express or otherwise deal with matters of sex, drug misuse or addiction, crime, cruelty, violence or revolting or abhorrent phenomena in such a way that they offend against the standards of morality, decency and propriety generally accepted by reasonable adults to the extent that they should not be classified....

Not too long ago, Overkill Software released a reveal trailer that detailed the character Grant as the third playable figure in its forthcoming game based on Robert Kirkman’s wildly popular The Walking Dead franchise. Now, the company has decided to round out its cast with the last main character to be announced thus far, with a brand new cinematic focusing on the survivor simply known as Heather. As seen below in Overkill’s latest trailer for The Walking Dead, it seems as if Heather has been on the run from a band of nasty ne’er-do-wells who are intent on killing her for some undisclosed reason, as a brawl breaks out between them all in a small grocery store setting....

Overwatch Anniversary 2017 has begun as an official event in celebration of the team-based shooter’s May 24 release date in 2016. The event, like those previous, features a new Anniversary Loot Box filled with new custom content like skins, emotes, sprays, and voice lines. Three new Arena maps are included with the event, perhaps to make up for the lack of a new themed Brawl. The game’s Anniversary 2017 event lasts from May 23 through June 12, so log in and start earning loot boxes today....

Capcom has a smash hit on its hands as Monster Hunter World has already shipped over 5 million copies over the first three days of availability.
