Early Access release for Mortal Kombat 11’s next DLC character, Spawn, starts next week. The full release for Spawn will come a week later on March 24. In the meantime, NetherRealm Studios and its partners are sharing glimpses at what Mortal Kombat 11 players can expect, with one such tease coming from Spawn creator Todd McFarlane himself. McFarlane posted a look at one of Spawn’s unique intro sequences, which features a surprising appearance by Spawn villain Violater....

Move over Skins and Euphoria, Netflix’s Grand Army is joining the gritty (and hopefully not too realistic) high school show bandwagon. Netflix has unveiled a release date and first trailer for Grand Army, an adult drama about a New York high school from playwright Katie Cappiello. The trailer itself not only helps to showcase some of the toughest bosses in Dark Souls, but also the amazing graphics. Dreams of more accessible VR gear are now a reality. Today, Mary Yee, the Vice President of PlayStation Marketing, announced that a brand-new PlayStation VR bundle is launching soon for users in the United States and Canada. The good news doesn’t end there, as the existing PlayStation VR Worlds bundle is getting a sizable pricing cut, and will hit the market at its new lower cost in just a few days....

Announced via PlayStation’s Twitter page, it appears a brand new State of Play is on the way, with the major console manufacturer confirming that the next in its long-line of broadcasts will debut this Thursday, August 6. Better yet, Sony has also revealed some details about what players can expect to see at this upcoming showcase, with a selection of PlayStation 4 and 5 titles supposedly making the cut. The broadcast itself will start at 1PM Pacific Time, and according to PlayStation, will feature a selection of upcoming PlayStation 4 and PSVR games....

The game is combat-heavy and eschews a traditional class-based system for a weapons-based one in which custom build-outs and skillsets are tied to weapons. Combat feels similar to Dark Souls: dodge rolls, blocking, and perfectly timed strikes are keys to victory in a fight. But the responsiveness isn’t quite as razor-sharp as what you’d experience in the Souls games, but considering the game is an MMO, I left impressed with how it played overall....

Tyrann is a less than cheery secret member of Nier’s team, though no one knows of his existence but Kaine outside of endings C and D of Neir: Replicant and Gestalt. Players will first begin hearing Tyrann during their second playthrough, where he is introduced through a short visual novel describing the events of Kaine’s past. As players progress through the game, Tyrann will chime in to make fun of the shades and give Kaine a hard time....

Magic plays a key role in Nier Replicant’s gameplay loop, functioning as the other half of your combat tool kit. Through the power of Grimoire Weiss, the protagonist Nier can tap into ancient spells called Sealed Verses. In the original Nier, Sealed Verses were mainly an accent to the swordplay. In Replicant, Sealed Verses can be seamlessly weaved in and out of most combos. There are a total of eight Sealed Verses in Nier Replicant, all distinctly unique and unlocked before the halfway point....
