It has now become easier than ever for Microsoft fans to stream content from their PC to their TV, as the Wireless Display app can stream video to an Xbox One while retaining the ability to use the controller that is connected to the console. According to The Verge, the Wireless Display app lets you easily show video content from a PC on whatever screen that your Xbox One is connected to, while also allowing you to use the controller to access functions on that PC....

Despite its dubious origin, Spider-Man’s black costume has proven to be a fan-favorite. The suit officially debuted in 1984’s Amazing Spider-Man #252, and was explained a few months later in Secret Wars #8. Although created by a fan who sold the design to Marvel Editor-in-Chief Jim Shooter in 1982, the suit became canon when Shooter and new partners Mattel wanted to sell two versions of their Spider-Man action figure. Disney and Lucasfilm are developing a female-led Star Wars series as part of their line-up of projects for Disney+. Sony was first to draw their line in the sand when it comes to next-gen console hardware, taking charge by unveiling the PlayStation 4 several months before E3 2013 where it’s a certainty at this point that Microsoft will unveil the next-gen Xbox. Rumor has it Microsoft may respond later this month with an early event of their own, but we’ve not heard of any plans nor have invites been sent out....

The next PS+ games have been confirmed by the PlayStation Saudi Arabia Twitter account, with Just Cause 4, Rocket Arena, and Worms Rumble all being free for subscribers in December. Sony entered the PS5 generation with an amazing PS+ line-up. November’s games included the PS5 version of Bugsnax, Hollow Knight: Voidheart Edition, and Middle-earth: Shadow of War....

Although both next-gen consoles, the PS4 and the Xbox One, are great glimpses at the future of video game technology, they are also missing several key features out of the box. The PS4, for example, was limited in its streaming options (although it does have them) and the suspend/resume mode did not make launch. On the other hand, the Xbox One was even more limited in its feature set, but that should change in the coming weeks....

San Francisco-based mobile developer and publisher Nifty Games announced Wednesday it has secured more than $12 million in Series A financing, as well as a partnership with the National Football League (NFL) and National Football League Players Association (NFLPA) to create its first game, NFL Clash. This appears to be one of many big moves by the NFL, which recently made a deal with 2K Games. According to Nifty Games, NFL Clash will be an “innovative” title with “fast, yet deep” gameplay specifically designed for head-to-head matches on mobile devices....

Nia DaCosta’s Candyman, a sequel to and reboot of the original 1992 horror film, has been rescheduled for theatrical release on August 27th, 2021. Originally planned as an offering for this year’s Halloween season, the new Candyman, like most everything else this year, has been postponed multiple times due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The new Candyman returns to Chicago’s Cabrini Green neighborhood, which has fallen victim to a real modern monster: gentrification....

The Nintendo Switch has officially outsold its next best-selling predecessor, the 3DS as it closes in on 80 million units sold. As 2020 nears its end, it seems that many large companies are looking to make acquisitions. Yet another example of that is a new investment made by Nordisk Games, which is based out of Copenhagen, Denmark. Nordisk’s new effort is a significant stake in game developer MercurySteam, purchasing 40% of the company. With Outriders preparing for its release on April 1st, players have been given a chance to try out the new game early with a new demo that launched on February 25th. Since then, developer People Can Fly has reacted to the community’s positive reception of the demo, now revealing some of the data collected during the first week players had access to it. Details about the Overwatch Halloween Terror event leaks, while game director Jeff Kaplan teases the addition of two new playable characters and six new maps. As an online multiplayer game, various tweaks and changes are made to Overwatch all the time. For example, a huge redesign for support hero Symmetra is being planned and developer Blizzard recently introduced a fix for a thumbstick acceleration issue. Soon, though, the usual balance changes and bug fixes aren’t the only things set to be added to the game, as Blizzard is also planning to introduce lots of new content too....

In a new post at the Blizzard Forums, Overwatch principal designer Scott Mercer reveals that the next competitive season for Blizzard’s online shooter will begin on December 1. Competitive play season two of Blizzard’s popular online multiplayer Overwatch has been underway for a couple of months now, and the addition of free post-launch content - such as the first post-launch DLC map Eichenwalde - has kept players consistently engaged. Given that each competitive play season will roughly match the real-world seasons, season two is scheduled to end in a few weeks time, but according to a new Overwatch announcement, players won’t have to wait long for season three to begin....

Overwatch players who were having issues with Genji’s high latency Ultimate problem can now rest easy as the problem has been fixed in the latest patch, along with a series of changes to Competitive Play and various bug fixes across all platforms. For those who were unaware, Genji previously had a issue with his Dragonblade Ultimate in which the amount of sword swings varied depending on the player’s latency - higher latency paradoxically resulted in more swings....
