The Fallout series has come a long way since the original games, similar to the evolution of the entire open-world genre that was firmly established in Interplay Entertainment’s titles and further expanded by Bethesda. However, as far as new innovations to the genre go, the Power Armor from Fallout 4 and 76 might be the best addition that Bethesda has made for any open-world title. Power Armor has existed since the original Fallout as well, although its introduction was as little more than a powerful piece of armor, which both Bethesda and Obsidian continued when reviving the series....

Due to exceptionally high demand driven by the global pandemic, Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 and 3090 cards are in short supply. That means that for many gamers out there, the most reliable way to get their hands on these high-demand cards will be ordering through builders such as Origin PC, which is now offering desktop builds with Nvidia cards. The Florida-based computer building company is now including 30-series Nvidia GeForce RTX graphics cards in some of its desktop PCs....

Microsoft has done it again by bringing original Xbox games back to play on Xbox One. The news broke during Microsoft’s E3 press conference, with Xbox chief Phil Spencer announcing that original Xbox games will be rolled into the Backward Compatibility program. The program originally began in 2015 with making Xbox 360 games compatible with the Xbox One’s hardware. 385 titles have been made to work, with most games receiving a performance boost when played on the Xbox One’s beefier specs....

There are so many side-quests to complete in Obsidian’s The Outer Worlds. With 27 recorded missions, some can be wonderful and exciting to play, but some can just be terrible. As soon as the player lands on Terra 2 and heads to Edgewater, they are thrown into an adventure like no other, where they make their own choices and change the course of The Outer Worlds’ doomed history. While changing the world, hilarious and often mad NPCs send you off to help their troubled business, city, or families with the promise of sweet XP or Bit Cartridges....

Respawn has reported that over 16,000 players have been banned from Apex Legends as a result of their cheating (yay!). The free-to-play title garnered over 25 million players after the first week of it’s February 4th release. But that number has been reduced by over 16,000, which, of course, the developers don’t mind. They must have expected that there’d be plenty of cheaters given the shockingly high number of users they’ve seen come in anyway....

Overwatch has won acclaim for its fantastic gameplay, but one writer looks at how the multiplayer shooter’s understated storytelling is an important part of the game’s brilliance. At first glance, Overwatch appears to be little more than an absolutely frantic shooter that involves a bunch of mismatched characters going head-to-head for some unknown reason. With virtually the entire backstory of the game being distributed by other forms of media, such as trailers and comics, Overwatch could have very well been all style and no substance....

Paradise Lost is an upcoming alternative history, post-apocalyptic game where players take on the role of a 12 year old boy named Szymon, the Polish name for Simon. Paradise Lost will be published by All in! Games who brought players the breakout hit Ghostrunner. Set in 1980, players will uncover the truth of a mysterious Nazi bunker in the middle of the post-apocalyptic wasteland, but their actions will affect the overall outcome of the game....

Monster Hunter World has finally been released to the public, and the action role-playing game has managed to attract a rather sizeable audience after shipping more than 5 million copies within the first three days of its availability. With this being the case, there are certainly plenty of would-be Hunters on the search for materials like Coral Crystal and Coral Bone to improve their equipment and overall performance. For those unaware, Coral Crystal and Coral Bone are particularly significant items in Monster Hunter World, for they allow players to craft a variety of the action-RPG’s most powerful weapons, as well as some of the best armor in the game....

Metro 2033 is one of the best single-player shooters ever made predominantly because of the material it’s based on. If you’ve ever read Roadside Picnic by the Strugatsky brothers or watched Andrei Tarkovsky’s Stalker - yes, the video game series from GSC Game World is also inspired by it - you’ll know that this particular era of Russian art is compelling, weird, and completely unique. While both Metro and Stalker demonstrate concrete and actionable knowledge of their source material, Atomic Heart looks as if it knows what it’s up to but wants to go a step or two further....

Mortal Kombat 11 game director Ed Boon has been teasing new DLC for the past week now, but nothing official has been announced. But even though Boon has yet to make any Mortal Kombat 11 DLC announcement, the big reveal has seemingly leaked ahead of time. Apparently, Mortal Kombat 11 will soon be getting new DLC based on the cult classic 1995 Mortal Kombat movie adaptation. Mortal Kombat 11 dataminers have discovered voice lines that were seemingly recorded by actors from the 1995 Mortal Kombat movie....

Developer Nightdive Studios has announced that it will be remastering the N64 cult classic Shadow Man for modern platforms. In an exclusive on IGN this morning, the company showed off a bunch of screenshots and confirmed that the title will be coming to PC (via Steam and GOG), PS4, Xbox One, and Switch sometime later this year. In addition to some redone textures, the game will output in 4K resolution (on applicable systems), feature new shadow maps, have a redone lighting engine, and include anti-aliasing....

While many fans may recognize Nathan Fillion from some of his iconic roles in TV shows like Firefly or video games like Halo: ODST, for many, he’s known as providing the voice for the Exo Hunter Vanguard, Cayde-6 in the Destiny franchise. Cayde-6 makes his return in Destiny 2, once again providing a bit of comic relief and mischief as compared to the more stoic characters like Ikora Rey and Commander Zavala....

Netflix isn’t supposed to be shared with anyone beyond your physical household, including kids who have gone off to college or loved ones abroad, even though there are family plans. It’s a weird situation, but Netflix is cracking down on it with new security measures. If you attempt to log-in and aren’t the account holder, you might be asked to verify through a code either sent by email or text. Naturally, this can be curbed by the owner simply providing the code to the person in question....

Rocksteady Studios and Warner Bros. Interactive have released a new trailer for the upcoming Batman: Arkham City. This latest trailer shows off the Riddler and lets gamers get a little taste of the expanded role he will play in the game. Sure, collecting Riddler trophies in Batman: Arkham Asylum was fun but it is hard not to be excited about the new challenges presented in Arkham City. As described in our eyes-on impressions from GDC, the Riddler is really upping the ante this time around....

Having been accustomed to a constant stream of rehashes and sequels that seem to dominate the gaming industry, it’s refreshing when a new series comes along that boasts something unique - in this case, its art style. Dishonored is one such game. Taking control of Corvo, players will head out in search of vengeance after being framed for the assassination of the Empress. Looking as if it will blend ideas from titles like Deus Ex, Thief and BioShock to name a few, Arkane Studios’ newest title is an incredibly intriguing one....

Horror game fans are in for a treat because MadMind Studios has released a brand new gameplay trailer for its upcoming first-person survival-horror title Agony, showcasing a healthy (or unhealthy) dose of hell, gore, nudity, and other demonic unmentionables. Lasting a spine-chilling 12-minutes, the new Agony gameplay trailer takes players on a hellish journey through an area called the Floating Forest. Players assume the role of a damned soul trapped deep within the depths of hell without any memories of his past, and must face a hostile environment filled with gore, monsters, and other disgusting obstacles....

Earlier this year, Ubisoft revealed they had hit the “pause” button on the Prince of Persia franchise — taking a step back in order to evaluate how best to approach the “brand” moving forward. Since the Sands of Time trilogy, the franchise has tapered off quite a bit, with the cell-shaded Prince of Persia title failing to hit the same high marks as its predecessors. Moreover, Disney’s Prince of Persia feature film adaptation once again proved that video game movies are easier said than done....

Ubisoft premiered brand new Far Cry 6 gameplay during today’s Xbox/Bethesda showcase. This is our second look at gameplay following the reveal livestream two weeks ago. Far Cry 6 has had a major presence at E3 this year. During Summer Game Fest Kick-Off on Thursday, Giancarlo Esposito was interviewed about his role in the game. Esposito, who plays the game’s antagonist, Antón Castillo, spoke about his approach to the character. Esposito explained that he based his character on several famous dictators, including Fidel Castro and Adolf Hitler....

A new set of Super Mario Bros. toys has been announced for Japan and they’re based on the popular Ultraman series, with Mario and Bowser taking on the form of Tokusatsu heroes and villains. The Ultraman franchise is massively popular in Asia and is one of the most profitable media franchises of all time. In terms of revenue, Ultraman has made more money than franchises like Star Trek, Naruto, and the Grand Theft Auto series....
