My least favourite thing about the FIFA franchise is player ratings - or specifically the debates around player ratings. Even with so many different attributes in the game, the overall rating is never complex enough to represent a player’s true nature, especially when they’re a form player, or someone as perennially unpredictable as Jesse Lingard. A player gets an 86 and fans will scream until their throats bleed that it should have been an 85....

Nier is a franchise with very different and unique characters. In Nier Automata, we were presented with many robots that mimicked human society and had several philosophical issues. In Nier Replicant, we have artificial bodies that gain consciousness and do not understand the philosophical issues that are presented to them, dooming their species and humanity. In both games, in order to enjoy it, players have to be ready for a high dose of Yoko Taro’s Nihilism....

As live streaming continues to gain momentum, mainstream audiences are starting to pay attention. While celebrities like Brie Larson and Logic have jumped onto YouTube and Twitch respectively, a recent report indicates that this crossover goes two ways. In a feature by the Hollywood Reporter, Tyler “Ninja” Blevins reflected on his streaming career so far, from his meteoric rise through playing Fortnite with Drake to his unprecedented exclusivity deal with Mixer....

The next costume to be added to Fall Guys will be the one designed by Ninja, which is the result of a charitable donation made earlier this year. The third season of Fall Guys is underway and it has winter-themed stages and costumes. The game has also introduced Crown Ranks, which will increase as the player earns more Crowns. These can be used to acquire golden versions of classic costumes. Whether this will be enough to reignite interest in the game remains to be seen, as Fall Guys has seen its player base dropping on PC....

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will now have Warframe and Cuphead spirits as permanent additions to the game. Way back in February, Nintendo honored two great games in Smash Bros. Ultimate. Warframe’s Space Mom herself, the Lotus, was added as an obtainable Spirit during the Spirits in Black event at the end of February. She then turns into Natah after reaching level 99, which is a bit of a spoiler for non-Warframe fans....

The beginning of a new generation of console is almost upon us. This November, PlayStation and Xbox will release their new consoles and for the majority of people who can’t afford or don’t want one of each, a tough decision will need to be made....

Nintendo has revealed that the number of accounts affected by a security breach is almost twice as high as it initially thought. Earlier this year, Switch owners with Nintendo Switch Online accounts were subject to a security breach. It was estimated by Nintendo that around 160,000 Switch owners had their accounts accessed illegally. Nintendo immediately went to work on righting the wrong and protecting the vulnerable information of its subscribers....

One of NVIDIA’s many different artificial intelligence projects (and by far the best one to date) lets you envision what your pet might look like it it were a meerkat. Or a polar bear. Or a hyaena. In case you didn’t know, NVIDIA has its own research group dedicated solely to research into AI, and that includes developing new AI systems and agents which can do some pretty neat things. As the researchers say, although they take AI research very seriously, there’s still no excuse not to have some fun with the products of their labors....

During today’s livestream, Nvidia revealed the Geforce RTX 3080, RTX 3070, and RTX 3090. The RTX 3080 will become the new flagship CPU at $699, while the 3070 will retail for $499. As for the 3090, it will be prohibitively expensive for most people – at $1499 – but is the world’s first official 8K gaming GPU. The three GPUs will be coming out in stages over the next couple of months, each one more expensive than the last....

When the Oculus Rift came out in 2016, it elevated the standard of virtual reality gaming and brought a mainstream focus to the idea. Facebook and Oculus have now jointly announced the device’s ultimate successor, the Oculus Rift S, which will be releasing later this spring. The Oculus Rift S will come packaged with two Oculus Touch controllers and will run gamers $399, striking what the studio hopes will be a “sweet spot” of affordability for VR enthusiasts....

The first day of E3 and the Electronic Arts E3 conference is behind us, and at the conference there was a lot of news surrounding the highly anticipated Bioware IP game, Anthem. At E3, many details such as the Anthem release date, a gameplay video, the javelin classes, pre-order bonuses, and customizations, to name only a few, have been revealed. Recently, it has also been revealed that the new Electronic Arts subscription service, called, Origin Access Premier, will allow subscribers to get an entire week of early access to Anthem....

The Shepherds of Enoch Quest might be the hardest quest in Outriders. That’s including the final boss fights. What starts off as a pretty ordinary side quest turns into one of the most frustrating fights we’ve experienced in the game so far: the broken Shaman Warlord. This guy is a monster. He one-shots you for the vast majority of your health, especially if you’re playing on one of the higher world tiers....

The slate of Xbox Series X games launching alongside the console tomorrow has been in constant flux, with games being added on a regular basis while others, like The Ascent, have been removed from the Series X’s launch day lineup. Now, literally just a few hours from launch, one more change has been made with the addition of Overcooked: All You Can Eat to the lineup. The announcement was made today on the game’s official Twitter page, and answers a question fans of Team17’s chaotic cooking game series have had for a while....

If you’re dying to get your hands on the new Heroes of the Storm exclusive skins that will be coming to Overwatch as part of the HOTS 2.0 launch event, but the MOBA genre isn’t your thing, Blizzard has confirmed that both Oni Genji and Officer D.Va will be available in Loot Boxes at some point in the future. There’s no confirmed date as to when the skins will transfer games, but it’s safe to say that the developer will want to keep the cosmetics limited to the latest Nexus Challenge for a while yet....

An Overwatch streamer uses a boxing glove to control new character Doomfist. Doomfist wields a giant gauntlet that can deal a devastating amount of damage against opponents, and so it’s only fitting that one player has made a boxing glove rig. The boxing glove Doomfist rig makes use of a single boxing glove and a Wii Remote controller for a pretty effect control method. The Wiimote is attached to the back of the glove for motion controller fun, with Overwatch streamer ATwerkingYoshi able to draw his fist back before striking forward in order to trigger Doomfist’s Rocket Punch ability....

Paizo’s Director of Game Design Jason Bulmahn recently announced the season one start date of the Monster Arena Ultimate League, a Pathfinder RPG Actual Play Tournament. The tournament is scheduled for Saturday, October 24, at 4pm PST, and will be streamed live on Bulmahn’s Twitch channel at twitch.tv/JasonBulmahn. ICYMI, the Monster Arena Ultimate League (MAUL) Pathfinder creature competition, where two teams of players controlling creatures do battle against the other in an online arena using the Pathfinder 2E rules....

Capcom has revealed the customization options for the Palamute mounts in Monster Hunter Rise, which will allow players to design their own dog companion. The Monster Hunter series is known for its Palico companions, which are catlike humanoids that aid the hunters in battle. Monster Hunter Rise is introducing Palamutes, which are doglike animals that can be used as mounts. Hunters can take Palamutes with them on missions in order to help them quickly traverse the map....

Hitman 3 might have been the end of a trilogy, but there will be more opportunities to drown NPCs in a toilet at some point in the future. Hitman 3 just launched, but IO Interactive is still working on Agent 47’s next adventure. We spoke to executive producer Forest Swartout Large earlier today and asked if Hitman 3’s ending left the door open for the studio to return to the slaphead stalker....
