This Nancy Drew review contains spoilers. Nancy Drew Season 2, Episode 9 Nancy Drew brings back the Bobbsey Twins to tell one of its darkest stories to date in “The Bargain of the Blood Shroud,” an hour that sees Gil Bobbsey steal the magical artifact that resurrected George and threaten to use it again even though he is well aware that to do so will certainly mean her death. Truly, it’s a bit upsetting that Gil Bobbsey – another fictional staple of my childhood – is actually such a monster in this episode that he would willingly sacrifice George’s life for the slimmest chance of finding out whether a dying old man killed his mother....

Although not a whole lot of direct story details have been revealed for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, there’s still been plenty to go on. Whether that’s Eivor’s clan traveling to England to secure a better life or King Alfred the Great serving as an antagonist, it does seem to be coming all together. Fans also likely know that this won’t be a traditional Assassin’s Creed game in that Eivor appears to work with the Hidden Ones, but for at least a portion of the game, is not a Hidden One in name....

BioShock is particularly known for its haunting settings, strong philosophical themes, and twist-filled narratives. A new game in the series has been confirmed to be in development at a new studio set up by 2K, Cloud Chamber, and it could deliver on all of this points yet again. This new BioShock game has a ton of potential, but there are a few big decisions the developer will need to make and some big risks involved....

The next BioShock game is on its way, even if it’s still a long way off, and players have some huge expectations for how 2K Games plans to continue one of the most popular series from the PS3/Xbox 360 era. With Cloud Chamber Studios working on BioShock 4, this new developer should look at the history of the games when moving forward, and try to make up for the previous title’s weaknesses....

Fans of the expansive role-playing series Dragon Age were granted plus-10 excitement back in September, with the news that a third major installment, titled Dragon Age: Inquisition, was well under way at developer BioWare. Keen to avoid a repeat of DA: 2’s much maligned ‘Mass Effect worship,’ the studio has since set about ditching its sequel’s painfully linear questing, in favor of a more open-ended approach to adventure. Scheduled for release at the tail end of 2014, precious little is yet known about the epic scale dragon slasher, aside from the one or two interesting tidbits gleaned from the games’ first development diary on Tuesday....

With the ubiquity of Activision’s Call of Duty franchise in the video game marketplace, it may sometimes be easy to forget that the events depicted are based on real-world combat with actual consequences. The Call of Duty Endowment started by Activision to help veterans find work once they’ve returned home is an excellent use of the series’ platform, especially with store bundles like the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare “Fearless Pack” appearing in-game for players to donate....

The highly anticipated follow-up to NieR Automata made a strong showing at The Game Awards with the reveal of a brand new gameplay trailer, showing off the upcoming titles flashy new combat. This means that fans have a little more to chew on than just the comically long name, NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139…, which comes as a reference to this new title being a remaster of the original NieR Replicant. Much of the combat itself should be familiar to players who have played NieR Automata, something that shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise considering that NieR Replicant is the popular PS4 title’s predecessor....

Ever since Hello Games’ No Man’s Sky was released a few weeks ago, what was initially hyped as one of 2016’s most anticipated games has turned into something of a disappointment. Echoing Hello Games founder Sean Murray’s admission that the space-exploration epic would be “super divisive”, some players have been disappointed at the game’s missing features and perceived false marketing, to the point where refunds were being demanded. It appears that the player backlash over No Man’s Sky has now reached a new nadir as based on new reports, it appears that player refunds requests are now indeed being accepted....

One of the best all-around MMO-RPGs of today is still one from yesterday. Old School Runescape has the perfect combination of grinding, combat, nostalgia, and story-driven quests to offer a complete RPG experience, especially now that the game’s more tedious tasks (and everything else even) can be completed on mobile. A huge part of OSRS’s appeal is the quests. While many are simple gathering or hunting, there are many that are full of short narratives, with characters, twists, turns, and even some creative problem-solving....

Outriders can be a very challenging game - sometimes. Most of the time you’re running through the world, picking off minor enemies with just a few bullets, and then occasionally you’ll need to actually get serious and start using your abilities. But then randomly, from nowhere, an enemy will appear that, while beatable by itself, when combined with a legion of mobs running at you, it becomes a genuinely insurmountable task....

Blizzard may have only just released the major Overwatch Halloween event update, but this week, the game received another, small but important patch. This latest update to the hit multiplayer shooter buffed two of the game’s support heroes. The new Overwatch update arrived on PC, PS4, and Xbox One yesterday and included changes for three of the game’s healers. Mercy was recently reworked and now, the aerial healer’s abilities have been tweaked further to make her more effective....

Overwatch has managed to maintain its large player base through its fun mechanics, character roster, and a constant stream of updates. The annual Overwatch Anniversary event is now live and as a result, the title is bringing even more content to the game. Many fans have already been excited for the event after seeing the new skin for Mercy, but it seems that the new skins for other characters that draw from a plethora of themes have given Mercy tough competition....

This week, Overwatch players finally get to take Echo out for a spin in Competitive Play now that she’s back in the rotation. Taking her place are four new characters, many of which work well with and against Echo’s specific playstyle. With the absence of these heroes, players will have to wait another time to properly put her to the test in Competitive. The latest hero pool ban is underway in Overwatch, removing McCree, Widowmaker, Mercy, and Wrecking Ball from the roster temporarily....

Blizzard’s popular team-based hero shooter Overwatch has been making a lot of recent changes. Among these includes a new competitive game mode for its most recent season, as well as the promise of a new event coming on July 14. With this new event comes a new skin for the tank hero, Sigma, as well as a brand-new music pack for fans to enjoy. The announcing of this event comes just hours after news of Blizzard’s banning thousands of Overwatch accounts during the first few months of 2020....

Today, Blizzard announced the second annual Overwatch World Cup, a 4-phase event culminating in a BlizzCon 2017 championship. Overwatch World Cup 2017 will increase the number of represented nations from 16 to 32, with the event involving four different stages. The core structure remains the same, however, with each nation’s Overwatch fans ultimately voting for their favorite players to represent them. Phase 1 has already begun and involves the announcement of the event itself, but also serves to make the international community aware of how to qualify....

The foundation of the recently announced Monster Hunter Rise has been confirmed, as the game uses Capcom’s RE Engine, which has powered most of the modern Resident Evil titles. Capcom’s RE Engine was initially designed for Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, but it has since been used to develop games like Devil May Cry 5, Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3, and Pragmata. The RE Engine is also being used to develop Resident Evil: Village....
