It feels weird to type this, but Metroid Dread instantly became the most pre-ordered game on multiple digital storefronts after E3. A Metroid game! Topping the charts! Incredible. Don’t get me wrong, Dread looks fantastic and I can’t wait to play it - it’s just strange to see such a long-dormant series resonate with so many different demographics. It’s even topping the Wii U charts now, as Metroid hype reaches a fever pitch....

A new gameplay trailer for the sequel to the acclaimed Ori and the Blind Forest premiered at the Xbox E3 2018 press conference today. Like its predecessor, Ori and the Will of the Wisps is another fantastical romp through exotic landscapes, and looks just as gorgeous as the original. The sequel promises all-new combat and customization options, some of which are shown in the trailer. Activision Blizzard is currently under investigation following accusations of harassment, discrimination, and fostering a hostile work environment. You can read more about the investigation here. The original Overwatch was a pay-to-play, premium retail game. Among other things, that meant that if you bought the game for PC, you could only play Overwatch on that platform unless you also purchased the game for a console. Who has the money for that? But since Overwatch 2 is a free-to-play title, you can technically download it on as many platforms as you want....
The next Pandemic Legacy edition - the third in the series of boardgames - has been revealed, and will take the form of Pandemic Legacy: Season 0. The game will be a prequel set before the events of the previous two titles. This news was confirmed with the release of a new teaser trailer. Interestingly, though, just before the official trailer dropped yesterday, there was an apparent leak of Season 0’s box art on Z-Man’s (the game’s developer) website, as spotted by Reddit user arankas....
After announcing a subscription service for Crusader Kings 2 last month, Paradox Interactive has unveiled another subscription service for Europa Universalis 4, a grand strategy game in the Europa Universalis series, developed and published by Paradox on August 13, 2013,. Last January, Paradox initially began considering a subscription model for Europa Universalis 4, initially providing the feature to a “limited group of people” in a pilot program. Paradox eventually explained, “We have heard for years from existing and potential new players that the cost of getting the game and all expansions all at once is quite expensive (and might be discouraging for completely new EU4 fans), it’s been supported for almost 7 years after all....

Pathfinder: Kingmaker launched in a sorry state, due to a number of bugs and poor design choices that made it hard to enjoy the game. The developers at Owlcat Games have done a great job improving Kingmaker since launch, but the best addition came from the fans, in the form of a mod that completely changed my opinion of the game. Kingmaker is based on the Pathfinder tabletop RPG, which itself is an improved version of the third edition of Dungeons & Dragons....
Control just launched on Switch, and due to the power of the Nintendo Direct, the game’s servers can’t handle the influx of players. For those who unaware, the graphically intensive Control has been optimized with a cloud version for the Nintendo Switch. This means that the game will be played through dedicated servers in the cloud rather than being installed on the system itself. This has quickly created problems for this TGA Game of the Year nominee....

Monster Hunter World: Iceborne continues releasing content for hunters around the world. Recently the developers added two new creatures to the monster hunting game, and they haven’t stopped there. Starting today, Event Quests are live in the game for players to enjoy. Announced on the Monster Hunter Twitter page, the Event Quests are taking place from March 27, 2020, to April 9, 2020. The Tweet specifically mentions that the additional hunting may be thanks to players being stuck indoors recently, so hunters should be happy for the extra fun to be had....

For months, rumors have been swirling that Mortal Kombat 11 was going to release Kombat Pack 2, giving fans of the fighting game more DLC characters to add to their roster of playable characters.
