After going without a host at the 93rd annual Academy Awards in 2021, as well as during the Oscars ceremonies in 2020 and 2019, this year’s big movie night is swinging things in the other direction. Three individuals are set to share hosting duties for the 94th Academy Awards on March 27: Wanda Sykes, Regina Hall, and Amy Schumer have all been tapped to steward the event. Perhaps in an effort to increase fledgling ratings, the three women will also have a prime platform to entertain audiences both inside of the Dolby Theatre and at home by showcasing their distinctive comedy chops....

Before Outlast 2 released, developer Red Barrels had to cut some content to ensure that the game received a ‘Mature’ rating instead of ‘Adults Only.’ In terms of game ratings, ‘Adults Only’ can be a kiss of death, ensuring that most major retailers don’t sell the title similar to the NC-17 rating on movies. But now that Outlast 2 has been out for a while, Red Barrels is adding the cut content via a patch on Steam....

Overcooked 2 fans on PC have been able to play the Suns Out, Buns Out DLC since July 5, but console gamers have so far been missing out. Now Ghost Town Games has confirmed exactly when Overcooked 2 fans on consoles can expect to get their hands on the new DLC. As announced by Ghost Town Games on Twitter, the new Overcooked 2 Suns Out, Buns Out DLC will be available for PS4, Switch, and Xbox One beginning July 16....

Hammond was the 28th Overwatch character released and is a former resident of both the Horizon Lunar Colony and Junkertown. Hammond, originally an innocent hamster living in the Lunar colony, was treated with genetic therapies, and eventually he, like Winston before him, developed some highly unnatural skills. In Hammond’s case, these skills were specifically mechanical, and when he escaped the Lunar Colony’s destruction, he put those skills to use by becoming the champion of the Junkyard, crashlanding in outback Australia, and fighting his way to the top....

Overwatch fans are beginning to experience difficulties in finding major gameplay features worth complaining about. Overwatch just launched the Horizon Lunar Colony map to rave reviews, with critics praising the maps nuanced technical design while also complimenting the aesthetic, which blends seamlessly into the already established Overwatch universe. Capcom continues to release tidbits of info regarding Monster Hunter Rise – the franchise’s first Switch exclusive scheduled to launch in March 2021. The latest footage shows off our loyal Palamute companions and the different types of gear they’ll be able to wear. The preview was actually released on Thanksgiving (November 26) in the United States, so you’d be forgiven if it slipped under your radar. It’s a short, 14-second clip that quickly flips through the various types of armor you can equip your Palamute with, ranging from bulky steel plates to lightweight leather and fur saddles....

Fans don’t have much longer to wait for Monster Hunter Rise, the newest entry in the series. While it was only announced back in September, it’s on track to release for Nintendo Switch in a couple of months. Earlier today, to help prepare players for the release, Capcom held a digital event that showed some new footage and went into a bit more detail about some of its features. For instance, the new Wirebug mechanic, which looks to be taking the place of the grappling hook from Monster Hunter World....

Mortal Kombat 11’s character towers have been a point of contention even before the game officially launched. Because of the grind necessary to unlock items tied to each character on the Mortal Kombat 11 roster, many players were locked out from some of the items they wanted most, like skins, cosmetic items, and brutalities. Watching a panel online can sometimes feel impersonal, but Gaiman and all the friends brought together by his graphic novel Sandman seemed to welcome the chance to talk about it. When it comes to EA’s sports games, most tend to think of FIFA and Madden, but that hasn’t stopped its NHL franchise from continuing to provide hockey fans with a virtual fix every year. It’s a trend that will continue this fall with the release of the series’ 30th entry, NHL 21. Following the news earlier this summer that NHL 21 would be delayed from the usual September release window, EA announced in a press release that the game will be out on October 16....

This week’s free-to-play multiplayer Switch title, Ninjala, has made a splash. GungHo Online Entertainment has announced on Twitter that the game has been downloaded more than 1 million times in a single day. To celebrate the successful launch, GungHo is giving 100 Jala (the in-game currency) and 10 Ippon Gum (Flame) weapon skins to all players.
