Graphics in video games have evolved to such a point that basically every game is beautiful these days. Some indie titles, either because of budget or design choice, have a more dated or stripped back approach, but for the most part, everything is gorgeous. Whether it be the bustling streets of New York City in Spider-Man, the Wild West vistas of Red Dead Redemption 2, or the dark and terrifying beauty of Demon’s Souls, we’ve reached the point where pretty graphics are the standard, with few being noteworthy....

Since it was first released in 1988, Ninja Gaiden has become one of the most successful franchises of all time. We’ll look at the history of the original and discuss the impact that it had, all while reviewing the game as if it’s being played for the first time. There have been several complications with Ninja Gaiden: Master Collection, and it seems another one has been added to the list, as the game will have a 60fps cap on PC. In an interview with PC Gamer, Team Ninja producer Fumihiko Yasuda confirmed that that the PC version of the game will run up to 60fps, and will seemingly be capped at that number. When asked about whether the port would include 120fps on the PC, Yasuda said that the game would run at 1080p, 60fps ordinarily, but could reach 4K, 60fps if the system is strong enough....

Nintendo Directs are short video presentations hosted on Nintendo’s official website and video channels. It’s April and that means that Outriders is officially released. Square Enix released the Outriders Demo earlier this year in February which has seen a lot of positive response. And since then, the game’s popularity has gone off the charts. People Can Fly, developers behind Outriders, have been releasing constant updates for the demo, fixing all of the tiny exploits players could find before the launch of the full game....

Over 60,000 interested gamers and tech enthusiasts backed Julie Uhrman and Yves Behar’s Kickstarter for the innovative Android powered Ouya console which earned over $8.5 million from crowdfunding. So when early Ouya previews focused on there being a lot of negatives with the hardware and its software offerings, and combined with repeated delays, there was reason to be concerned. The Ouya console hit retail this week for an affordable price of $100, but many of the backers still have yet to receive what they invested in a year and a half ago due to distribution center issues....

The Blizzard universe-themed Overwatch map Blizzard World arrives next week along with several brand new cosmetics (skins, sprays, and emotes) for players to unlock. Blizzard has been teasing these new cosmetics ahead of launch and the latest reveals are something worth getting excited about. Blizzard has confirmed that the Overwatch cosmetic update will include new legendary skins for Lucio and Hanzo. Lucio’s skin is Capoeira Lucio, which is a nod to the musical healer’s Afro-Brazilian heritage....

It’s been nearly three years since Monster Hunter World first launched, and the game has more or less reached the end of its lifecycle. There are no more major expansions or updates planned for the game, with Capcom looking ahead to the upcoming Monster Hunter Rise, set to launch this coming March. Despite this, Monster Hunter World is getting review bombed, though it’s not because of anything to do with the game itself....

According to Square Enix, due to extremely high demand for their Final Fantasy 15 Ultimate Collector’s Editions, the company is producing 10,000 additional units. A few weeks ago we reported that Square Enix decided to create more copies of the Final Fantasy 15 Ultimate Collector’s Edition. Recently, the company has released details on what exactly is going on with this situation. According to its official blog, 10,000 new units will begin production soon, but due to high demand for this particular collector’s edition, Final Fantasy 15 fans actually getting a copy is an ordeal....

When it comes to fighting games, Mortal Kombat has always pushed the envelope for being the most violent, graphic, and adult-themed franchise out there. Its storylines are often over-the-top, the special moves always try to be as gory as possible, and the characters are some of the most outlandish in the genre. That said, all these factors somehow blend together to create one of the most iconic video game franchises of all time....

Fans have had quite a few questions about Mortal Kombat 11’s upcoming Aftermath DLC, which will take place after the events of the main game. However, Aftermath’s DLC characters— Sheeva, Fujin, and Robocop — have been of particular interest, as dropping the three at once is a change from what Mortal Kombat 11 has done up until now. Luckily for players, it isn’t necessary to purchase the DLC to unlock the new characters — at least not the entire thing....

Ever since NetherRealm Studios released Mortal Kombat 11 nearly two years ago, the studio has introduced numerous DLC characters. On November 17th, Mortal Kombat 11 is receiving Kombat Pack 2, which is a DLC pack that will introduce the iconic movie character Rambo, and fan-favorite characters Mileena and Rain. Based on some digging through the game’s files, it appears that NetherRealm will secretly add a new character to the roster in the next DLC update....

Tale of Immortal has taken the internet by storm over the last few weeks. At the time of writing, it’s the fifth most popular game on Steam, boasting over 120,000 concurrent players - that’s more than GTA 5, Apex Legends, and Rust. For those unacquainted with Tale of Immortal, it’s an open-world RPG based on Chinese mythology - specifically, the Classic of Mountains and Seas, an ancient text that contains a variety of fabulous tales about culture and mythology prior to the Qin dynasty....

Unlike the theme of the Resident Evil franchise’s fabled gameplay, Capcom didn’t do much to surprise us about its announcement of Resident Evil 6. Everything from an antsy voice actor listing it on his resume and a secret trailer showing at TGS to a viral video on Wednesday all but squandered the company’s big “secret.” Perhaps the bigger mystery to fans all along, though, hasn’t been whether or not Resident Evil 6 was in development, but rather what direction developer / publisher Capcom was going to take it in....
