Video games based on movies used to be everywhere years ago, but they’ve been on a bit of a hiatus as of late. That’s changing a little bit, with MachineGames taking on the responsibilities of an Indiana Jones video game, while IO Interactive tackles a new James Bond game with Project 007. If video game movies are having a comeback and this isn’t just a flash in the pan, there are a few movies that have some really solid game potential that needs to be explored in the future....

Love it or hate it, there’s no denying that The Last of Us 2 is one of the most successful games in recent memory, with its sale numbers smashing records, particularly in the UK. One would think that after such a momentous release, Naughty Dog would want to take a break before tackling another project. This appears to be far from the case as Naughty Dog has put up several job listings, with one in particular confirming that it is working on a new single-player game....

In the wake of Abby’s voice actress receiving hate messages and death threats from people who despised the character in The Last of Us Part II, Naughty Dog issued a public statement addressing the whole situation. It’s been just under four years since Apple last updated the iPod Touch, with 2019 immediately giving way way to rumors that the company would finally be updating its iPod Touches with a new generation this year. Today, Apple has proven the speculation true, with a new line of iPod Touches being officially revealed by the tech giant. The new iPod Touches are nearly identical to the ones unveiled in 2015, sporting only one significant improvement: an A10 Fusion chip processor, which is the same kind that powers the iPhone 7....

Bungie surprised fans with a destination overview this week, showcasing what Guardians can expect to find on Europa in Destiny 2: Beyond Light. There’s a lot to take in, and a closer look at the new trailer reveals unusual units among the alien races that players have been battling for some time. This week, it was also revealed that Variks will be coming back to Destiny 2, and accompanying Guardians on their journey across Europa....

Just how extensive is this new Nintendo Switch sequel to Pokémon Snap going to be? Well, there’s no telling just yet, but there are certainly some glaring omissions in the trailer. That’s right, friends. After two decades of waiting, hoping, nostalgic replays and howling on Internet forums, franchise fans have finally been given the news many had long since lost hope for: a new Pokémon Snap title is coming to the Switch, creatively titled New Pokémon Snap....

Unlike the locations before it, you don’t unlock Blushing Beach (Night) right after leveling up Blushing Beach (Day). Instead, you get permission to explore the beach at night time shortly after completing the Durice section of the story, although I feel like I should stress it’s worth the wait - you might even get to snap a famous Gen 3 rivalry in action (hint: it rhymes with Sangoose and Zeviper)....

A new piece of promotional art for Resident Evil Village has shown off a masked villain that hasn’t yet been seen. The piece of art was spotted by Twitter user 11masa0000 and features a few of the game’s main cast. Ethan Winters is spotted at the top (with his face covered, of course), whilst Chris Redfield is seen carrying Ethan’s baby Rosemary. Most interestingly of all though, is a new masked villain shown on the bottom of the art....

During its E3 2016 press conference, Bethesda teases the existence of the rumored new Wolfenstein game, which may be titled Wolfenstein: The New Colossus. Rumors of a new Wolfenstein game appeared just days before Bethesda’s E3 2016 press conference was scheduled to take place. However, as anyone that watched the conference in its entirety can attest, no such game actually appeared at the event. Even so, some eagle-eyed viewers spotted a potential reference to the next Wolfenstein game, which is supposedly entitled Wolfenstein: The New Colossus....

In the latest episode of The Game Informer Show, a tease from senior editor Imran Khan is certain to get fans of The Legend of Zelda excited. Chiming in as his co-hosts speculated on the next possible entry in Nintendo’s action-adventure franchise, Khan stated that “the next Zelda will probably be sooner than we think.” While the details provided are next-to-none, the podcast’s host, Ben Hanson, did ask Khan if the entry would be a co-op title from the team behind 2015’s Tri Force Heroes....

Pokemon GO creator Niantic is working with Nintendo on a number of new real-world mobile apps based on the companies most famous characters. The first game coming as part of that initiative is a new augmented reality game based on the Pikmin franchise. Niantic shared the news in a blog post today. The unnamed game is described as having “gameplay activities to encourage walking and make walking more delightful.” This will be the first title created by Niantic’s newest Tokyo Studio, established in April 2018, and is expected to launch sometime in 2021....

NieR: Automata has the undesirable task of attempting to draw gamers away from two massive AAA releases in as many weeks. Competing with games like the critically acclaimed Horizon: Zero Dawn and what could be the biggest game release in several years in Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is, for lack of a better descriptor, sheer insanity - yet NieR: Automata has acquitted itself well. Early reception for Square Enix and Platinum Games’ action JRPG collaboration has been exceedingly positive, with many gamers drawing a comparison between the pulsing, lightning-quick combat of Final Fantasy 15 and the challenging, tough-but-fair difficulty levels of games like Dark Souls....

The cast of characters ready to do battle in Injustice: Gods Among Us just got a bit bigger. Thanks to some revealed images and gameplay details, fans now have an idea of how Nightwing and Cyborg will look and fight in the finished game. More official trailers and images are expected from San Diego Comic Con 2012 soon, but the early signs show extremely unique move sets and styles. NetherRealm Studios lead and Mortal Kombat creator Ed Boon has been teasing big reveals for Injustice coming this week, and it didn’t take long for the new pair of characters to make their way online....

With Fortnite’s cataclysmic The End event that took place at the tail end of October last year, many thought that they had seen the popular multiplayer shooter legitimately close up shop for good. Of course, fans eventually found out that the now-iconic Fortnite moment was merely a catalyst for Epic Games to shake up the game, introducing a second chapter with a new map, different weapons, and a variety of other major changes....

Nintendo’s Joy-Con drift issues never seem to go away. Stepping into the spotlight this time is a mother-son duo that have encountered the defect on their own Switch console and have put forth a lawsuit against the massive gaming company. The lawsuit was filed by Luz Sanchez and her son – identified as M.S in the documents since he’s a minor at just ten years old. According to the briefing, his mother Luz bought his Switch console back in December of 2018, and it started experiencing Joy-Con drift issues within a month of purchase....

The most recent issue of Famitsu magazine is reporting that the Nintendo Switch has outsold the Wii U’s lifetime sales within its first year alone in Japan. In terms of numbers: the Nintendo Switch has sold 3,407,158 units in Japan in the period from March to December of 2017, while the Wii U has only managed to sell 3,301,555 units in Japan since 2012. The huge success of the Nintendo Switch over the Wii U can be attributed to a few different factors....

With Space Jam 2 hitting theaters in 2021, developer Dave Lang has expressed interest in creating a video game adaptation for the new movie. You probably have heard the news: Space Jam, the 1996 crossover between Michael Jordan and the Looney Tunes, is getting a sequel. Space Jam 2 is set to release in 2021, this time with LeBron James playing the big star. Would you play a video game based on it?...
