I talk a lot of shit on the Pokemon that I consider to be inferior. My Pokemon articles are full of references to “trash-tier” Pokemon, garbage monsters, and the ultimate insult, pack-fillers. I really don’t blame Pokemon for creating so many characters I don’t want to look at. There’s over 800 creatures now, and they can’t all be great. It seems like for every flawless legend they come up with like Umbreon or Rayquaza, there’s ten more stupid-looking fish and bugs I just ignore....

An ex-Retro Studios concept artist has talked about two rather intriguing cancelled Nintendo projects involving The Legend of Zelda and Super Mario. The relationship between Nintendo and Retro has been lucrative. Retro developed the very successful Metroid Prime trilogy and had a hand in Mario Kart 7. The studio also developed Donkey Kong Country Returns and Tropical Freeze and is currently working on the highly-anticipated Metroid Prime 4. Recently, concept art surfaced revealing two cancelled Nintendo projects from Retro Studios....

According to a report by Nikkei (via VGC), Nintendo has made provisions to ramp up production of the Switch, with the new high-end model dubbed “Switch Pro” on the horizon. However, Nintendo has declined to comment on the report. Nikkei stated that Nintendo commissioned its manufacturing partners to scale up the handheld console’s production to 30 million units for the financial year ending March 31, 2022. This marks the highest ever production level for the Switch, despite being in its fifth year since launch....

Action game Nioh is not just cutting and slashing. There is a fair amount of shooting and exploding, as well. People Can Fly and Square Enix launched the Outriders demo across all platforms. With the game’s prologue and first gameplay hours available, players can finally experience Outriders content and its special features. However, one mechanic has already gotten a few complaints, forcing the players to watch small annoying cutscenes every time they interact with the environment to pass through. These short loading scenes went viral across social media. Today, Overkill Software uploaded its latest character trailer for its upcoming Walking Dead game. The first trailer highlighted a baseball bat-wielding survivor (not Negan) named Aidan, the second a nurse named Maya, and in the latest one, an older man named Grant. This trailer is a bit different than the others. Unlike Maya and Aiden, Grant speaks. The Walking Dead has always been about people, and relationships. Grant seems to be on a mission to locate his granddaughter, as he explains to a zombie (called “walkers” in The Walking Dead’s universe) strapped to the front seat of a car....

Unfortunately for those Overwatch fans who were looking forward to the game’s anniversary event launching, it seems that the update will not be coming to the Blizzard’s newest title just yet. A post on the game’s official Twitter appears to suggest that the next event is still significantly in the future, though does not tell us exactly when to expect it. Although Blizzard is yet to confirm the date that the upcoming Overwatch event will be launching on, a large amount of fans on the game’s online forums believed today to contain a surprise reveal....

Nothing in regards to event-specific skins or content for Overwatch’s one-year Anniversary event has been revealed yet, but players can be assured that there will be a lot of goodies to play for come May 23. However, it appears that Blizzard will have more than just Anniversary related content for fans, as the event will also include some non-event-related game content. In a new interview with Polygon, Overwatch game director Jeff Kaplan revealed that, in addition to the slate of Anniversary content, Blizzard will also be refreshing the game’s standard loot boxes with some new content....

A worrying and perhaps unnecessary event happened following a recent Overwatch League playoff event. One of the Overwatch League’s top players appeared to collapse on-camera following a match. The scene was recorded and shared via an official livestream to thousands of viewers left wondering what was going on. The player was said to have flu-like symptoms during the match and collapsed afterward. Their team later confirmed the player was alright and resting, but the situation was nevertheless unsettling....

Blizzard’s senior producer Pete Stilwell says that it is technologically possible for Overwatch to be ported over to the Nintendo Switch. This comes shortly after the official announcement that Diablo 3: Eternal Collection is also heading to Nintendo’s latest console. The announcement of this Diablo 3 port gives consumers hope that other Blizzard titles could also head over to Nintendo’s system. Blizzard is a company that has been notably absent from Nintendo hardware, yet the release of Diablo 3 could bring the possibility of future games or ports coming to the Switch....

Overwatch’s next hero, Orisa, will be released on March 21 across all supported platforms. Blizzard announced Orisa’s release date as part of a newly released preview trailer. The trailer gives a behind-the-scenes look at Blizzard’s design process for Orisa, her role in the Overwatch meta, and why the team’s so excited for the quadruped robot. When Overwatch’s director, Jeff Kaplan, can’t stop smiling while describing how fun Orisa is to play, it’s clear the developers have something special....

After a strong response from fans, Blizzard has decided to tweak one of the new skins in Overwatch’s Winter Wonderland 2017 event. Casual Hanzo is getting a slightly new look, but the change won’t go into effect until after the holiday-themed event has ended. In a new blog post, Blizzard detailed the planned change to the Casual Hanzo skin that would bring it more in line with the character’s look from the Reflections comic....

When Monster Hunter World first released Deviljho into the wild earlier this week, players were curious to know if the new monster had a tempered version. Now we have an answer, as an event quest featuring a tempered Deviljho has arrived. The event quest is called Relish the Moment, and further plays on Deviljho’s “pickle” nickname. It is a 9-star rank quest with a recommended Hunter Rank of 50, so players will need to beat the tempered Kirin quest....
