With Nioh 2’s launch, Steam users flocked to drop negative reviews and share their experiences amidst the revelation of a slightly buggy port. Publisher Koei Tecmo has addressed this, however, and stated, “[We’re] actively working on several updates.” That being said, Nioh 2 is still doing wonders on Steam with a player count that surpasses that of its inspirations, Dark Souls, and it does now sport ‘Mostly Positive’ reviews, but still, there are problems, and Koei Tecmo is looking to fix them....

Paper Mario: The Origami King is one of 2020’s very best games so far. It’s a beautiful testament to Nintendo’s willingness to encourage ambitious concepts, and a remarkable return to form after a decade-plus of truly slumming it. Nintendo and Game Freak have partnered with toymaker Bandai to create a series of Pokeball accessories. It’s the first opportunity Pokemon fans will have at acquiring a selection of Pokeballs to carry around with them in real life, beyond their handheld console or mobile phone. 12 unique Pokeballs will be made available via two different sets, exclusively available through Japan’s Premium Bandai brand. The 7-minute update is packed full of details regarding additions and changes in Summer Games 2017, including details on new skins, old skins, Lucioball, and more. As predicted, Lucioball is the major mode for the Summer Games event, but Blizzard isn’t content delivering the same thing all over again, so 2017’s Lucioball has some changes....

Paradox just released its second-quarter financial results, and they’re proving that DLC is still a moneymaker. DLC–it’s not always a profitable thing for big publishers, but for smaller game makers it can be a big moneymaker. Paradox Games, the developer of Stellaris and Crusader Kings and the publisher behind Prison Architect and Pillars of Eternity, is quickly becoming a big player. And they’re proving that DLC makes money for big companies too....

Surprising nobody, Mordhau’s developers, Triternion, revealed that 1 million copies have sold and celebrated with a massive mortar weapon and a new map called Crossroads. The update also contains a few other new weapons that one would expect in the game, along with one that no one expected: a carrot. Crossroads is quite large and has an objective in the middle for teams to fight over, while the mortar is a new siege engine that can be found in the fort only on Crossroads....

Activision’s Call of Duty franchise is no stranger to bugs and glitches, especially around the implementation of new updates. The open-world nature of the battle royale Call of Duty: Warzone makes it particularly susceptible to issues such as getting stuck in place when falling, but multiple players have recently been coming across a new glitched animation. The animation shows players using bandages that their operator begins wrapping around his or her left arm despite the fact that no such item exists in the game....

Fighting games are funny when it comes to DLC. Whereas shooters and other genres tend to have bundles, fighting game DLC generally entails the release of one fighter at a specific moment, with a spotlight shone on who that fighter is. Case-in-point Mortal Kombat 11 and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Both have featured similarly amazing guest fighters, though fan reactions to these characters are vastly different between the two camps. Frankly, the Smash community could learn something from the Mortal Kombat 11 fanbase....

Recently, a Mortal Kombat 11 leak suggested that DLC characters could include returning Mortal Kombat characters such as Nightwolf, Sindel, Fujin, and Sheeva, among other guest characters such as Joker and the Terminator. However, the Mortal Kombat 11 leak also listed The Evil Dead’s Ash whose actor recently stated was not actually on the roster, and because of this, many have begun to doubt the leaked DLC characters. Nevertheless, we do know that Mortal Kombat 11 will see franchise characters who appeared in previous entries coming back as DLC, with Shang Tsung already confirmed as the first DLC character....
