A recent Asmodee and Game in Lab clinical study has found that board games can help those suffering from Alzheimer’s by improving cognitive function and quality of life. Board games provide cognitive and behavioral stimulation that has been shown to have positive effects for Alzheimer’s patients. The study, titled Cognitive - Adaptation – Behavior, recommends tweaking existing games to enlarge larger fonts or replace game pieces with more ergonomically accessible options in order to enhance patients’ enjoyment and increase cognitive stimulation....

While the first DLC side mission for Saints Row: The Third, the Genkibowl VII, failed to hit the mark in terms of continuing the same off-the-wall insanity that the main game left, it was assumed that the next DLC would be a much better offering. That DLC, titled Gangstas in Space, has now received a release date, and it’s right around the corner. Blizzard officially announced the next expansion for Hearthstone Monday and unveiled a new keyword, spell type, the return of Quests, and the promise of other new and returning mechanics. The expansion, titled Saviors of Uldum, will continue the story that started with the previous expansion, Rise of Shadows, and feature the League of Explorers facing off against the League of E.V.I.L. The expansion will release as expected in August and will include the standard 135 new cards....

Pokemon Go players reaped the rewards of quarantine when Niantic tweaked various in-game mechanics to support lockdown procedures. With players able to walk up their distance score again, the mobile game will remove some of these bonuses in an update today, but some are here to stay for good, it seems. As Niantic removes various changes that were implemented back March, the game will also retain some of the bonuses delivered to players under a maintenance period, with others being made permanent....

Criterion Games confirms on Twitter that there are no new Burnout games in active development for current-gen consoles, but Burnout Paradise may make its way to Xbox One. The Burnout series of racing games has consistently earned strong reviews and sales, but even so, the franchise has been dormant for years. Yesterday, Counterplay Games released their minimum and recommended PC requirements for Godfall, and it came as a bit of a shock to some gamers. The minimum requirements were more like the recommended requirements of games not even a year old, while the recommended requirements called for a GeForce GTX 1080Ti.
