Capcom veteran Daisuke Ichihara has resigned from his post at the Japanese developer to pursue his career with ILCA. Known for directing Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate and Monster Hunter World: Iceborne, Ichihara is currently working on a new title for the Kyoto-based studio. News of Ichihara’s departure came during an interview with ILCA, published by CGWorld. The director highlighted that he only lives once, and described how he wanted to create an establishment that supports proposals from staff members....

When it comes to Monster Hunter World there are dozens of ways that players can approach a hunt. Some choose to cater their build towards support, by using the Mushroomancer skill for example, while others focus on eliminating elemental damage and surviving monster roars. But many will put their efforts towards skills and trinkets that raise defense and attack. Granted, doing damage and surviving monster hits is not the only goal in Monster Hunter World, but it does help....

After breaking several sales records for Capcom, even becoming its biggest selling game ever, Monster Hunter World players are enjoying the first wave of post-launch DLC content to be added outside of special crossover events with Street Fighter, Horizon: Zero Dawn, and more. The biggest piece of the update was the addition of Deviljho, a massive brute wyvern with a nasty mean streak and plenty of rewards for players to earn....

When it comes to Monster Hunter World, players have a ton of options. They can customize their build in numerous different ways, but it all starts with the weapon type, of which there are currently 14 in the game. But that may soon change if a tease from Monster Hunter World’s Japanese Twitter account is any indication. This week, the Japanese Monster Hunter World social media account tweeted out a picture featuring key chains representative of the 14 weapon classes and one mystery key chain....

Mortal Kombat 11, while receiving mostly positive reviews since launch, has also been criticized for a number of reasons. Chief among these is the difficulty of its Towers of Time mode, as well as the game being stingy with its in-game currency, requiring a ridiculous amount of grinding for players to get Koins, Hearts, Soul Fragments, and Time Krystals. NetherRealm Studios has responded to these complaints with a hot-fix to better balance the Towers of Time, but a more substantial update is coming this week that will also gift Mortal Kombat 11 players with free in-game currency....

Update 5/1/2019: The Steam store listing for the Frost DLC in Mortal Kombat 11 now reads “You can earn Frost in-game for free as a playable character by completing Chapter 4 of the Story Mode. You can also purchase Frost immediately.” Original story follows. Mortal Kombat 11 has earned quite a bit of praise since launch, but the game has also had its fair share of criticism. It seems much of the criticism aimed at Mortal Kombat 11 has to do with its grindy progression, with some accusing NetherRealm of balancing its rewards in a way to push people to purchase microtransactions at the expense of satisfying gameplay....

Parrying is one of several options that players have for dealing with a variety of different attacks in Mortal Shell, and indeed it can be quite powerful. That said, it is not extremely easy to perform a successful parry in this new action RPG from Cold Symmetry, but with a bit of instruction and some practice fans should be able to use this technique to counter their foes’ offense fairly consistently....

The NBA 2K21 team officially reveals the cover athlete for the next-generation versions of the game. Yesterday, it was confirmed that Portland Trailblazers point guard Damian Lillard will be the NBA 2K21 cover star for the current-generation version. With a short new trailer, it was announced that New Orleans Pelicans star Zion Williamson will be the cover athlete for NBA 2K21 on PS5 and Xbox Series X. The video shows Williamson’s NBA 2K21 character performing a dunk, as the clip cuts to performance’s of the basketball player during a real-life NBA game....

NBA center Meyers Leonard is in hot water after uttering an antisemitic slur during a recent Twitch stream of Call of Duty: Warzone. Leonard, who plays for last year’s NBA finalists, the Miami Heat, is currently out for the season having undergone shoulder surgery but the team has since announced that he will be kept away indefinitely. It remains to be seen how the league will handle the situation; a fine and suspension seem pretty much imperative....

The production of Netflix’s version of The Witcher suffered another setback as at least four people on set have tested positive for COVID-19. This marks the second time season two of the show has been impacted by the pandemic. Fortunately, the production team has isolated those affected and are testing all cast and crew. The story comes from Deadline, who reports that the cases were discovered today and that safety actions are already being taken....

As esports continues to grow in popularity and revenue, there was no doubt that professional sports betting would follow, and now the Nevada Gaming Control Board has approved wagering for the CS:GO ESL Pro League Season 11: North America. The approval allows for wagers to be made on the following classifications: Head to Head, winner of Each Match, and Overall Season Winner. Additional wagers that deviate from any of these three classifications may still be allowed but require a separate application and approval....

Fans of the classic 1980’s show Knight Rider have gone nearly 12 years without any significant update from their favorite sentient car, but can now rest easy knowing there’s still hope on the horizon. Spyglass Media Group has officially partnered up with James Wan and Michael Clear of Atomic Monster in order to produce a film based on the original action series. The original show, which ended production in 1986, featured a sentient car, KITT, and its driver, Michael Knight (David Hasselhoff), as they worked to fight crime using the car’s advanced technology....

With E3 2018 well underway, fans got a new glimpse at Deep Silver’s upcoming first-person shooter title, Metro Exodus. It was revealed during Microsoft’s E3 press conference and gave much relief to those saddened by its 2019 delay. The cinematic trailer begins with a powerful message and reminder that much of Russia is in ruins; however, the speaking figure also promises this to be an hour of glory. The Metro series is known for its narrative-driven singleplayer experiences, with 4A Games consistently providing players with a sense of dread and isolation. Whether a Metro game is following series protagonist Artyam or his fellow ranger Sam, the series has consistently delivered on throwing players into a memorable post-apocalyptic world.
