DC is set to host its massive DC Fandome event on August 22, where it is expected to showcase its upcoming slate of films, animated works, comics, and video games. And it’s now been confirmed that Mortal Kombat and Injustice game director Ed Boon will be featured at DC FanDome, sparking speculation that the event may have a big announcement of some kind from Boon’s NetherRealm Studios. The DC FanDome trailer already features Baraka in his Killer Croc skin, so fans have already been anticipating some kind of NetherRealm announcement at the show....

NetherRealm Studios has officially announced Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath, a full-fledged expansion for MK11 that adds new story content, stages, gameplay features, and perhaps most excitingly, three new playable characters to the game. The Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath expansion was first leaked a couple months ago, but it’s safe to say that few were expecting it to include quite this much content. The Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath expansion will be available on May 26, and it will add three new playable characters to the game, all of whom were previously leaked by dataminers....

While the majority of Mortal Kombat 11 players await the release of new DLC characters like Spawn and Nightwolf, developer NetherRealm has a smaller piece of content in the pipeline for next month. Mortal Kombat 11 will add a new DLC character skin for Sub Zero that imagines musician Dimitri Vegas as the character. WB and NetherRealm made the announcement this week, promising that the Sub Zero DLC skin will be available free to Mortal Kombat 11 players on all major platforms on August 22nd....

NBA 2K21 has rolled out the second update to the game nearly one month after its release. British tabletop games studio TT Combat has dropped some new vessels for their popular space combat game Dropfleet Commander. Dropfleet commander was originally created by Hawk Wargames who were acquired by TT Combat in October 2017. It is a sister game to Dropzone Commander a 10mm scale sci-fi inspired war game published by the same company. Dropfleet Commander focuses on combat between armadas of space ships, whereas Dropzone Commander concentrates on ground-based assaults....

The new level cap for Blizzard’s latest expansion, World of Warcraft: Legion, was reached by a player in less than six hour after its launch yesterday. Despite some trials to overcome during World of Warcraft’s new expansion launch last night – with latency slowing down a large chunk of the populace – one player forged through the chaos to reach the game’s new level cap of 110 in a surprisingly short amount of time....

Level-5 President Akihiro Hino has confirmed that a new Ni no Kuni title is now in the works, following the still relatively fresh announcement that the first game is getting a remaster. Hino also revealed that Level-5 plans to turn Ni no Kuni into a much bigger franchise for the company. While the Level-5 President obviously didn’t reveal a lot about the new title, he did say that it would release shortly after the Ni no Kuni animated movie, which is slated to release on August 29th in Japanese theatres (there currently doesn’t seem to be any word about it coming to the West)....

After an admittedly rough launch, and an even more rocky post-release period, No Man’s Sky and its creative team have buckled down to make 2017 the year of redemption. The introduction of multiplayer-like gameplay that could develop into a full-fledged experience, along with the addition of new worlds, features, and a massive 30+ hour story in the Atlas Rising update, have helped push the title back into good standing. Today, developer Hello Games has continued on this positivity-garnering streak by releasing a new update for No Man’s Sky that implements an overhauled save system....

Two weeks ago, Minecraft creator Markus “Notch” Persson revealed on Twitter and live on TV with BBC News that his next project would be a space adventure game of sorts. Players would play a person on a space ship and Notch later added that it would involve computers. Even though he and the rest of the Mojang development team are working away on two other unannounced projects alongside Scrolls, the space adventure has grabbed Notch’s creative attention and today he fully revealed what it’s all about....
