Yesterday, rumours began circulating that Warner Bros. was looking to trim down its gaming division. According to a document seen by Windows Central’s Jez Corden, NetherRealm Studios and TT Games were no longer considered “in the scope” of the publisher’s future, and were looking for potential buyers. Fans of the ill-fated TimeSplitters series are getting a glimpse of what could have been if the fourth TimeSplitters title wasn’t cancelled. A massive trove of unreleased concept art from developer Free Radical Design was made available to the public via Reddit, and it showcases a wide range of characters from various time periods and fantasy worlds. Following a recent rejection of a request to reopen its theaters, it appears the State of New Jersey has had a change of heart. New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy has made an announcement that theaters and other similar venues would be allowed to reopen starting September 4th, but with a caveat. According to Murphy’s announcement, the various spaces will all be limited to either 25% capacity or 150 people. While many may still question the decision to open any public gathering locations at this time, the decision by Governor Murphy appears to address steadily increasing tensions from those who insist on reopening....

Developer Rice Games has recently announced a new title that is intended to teach players how to speak Japanese. Shujinkou, a 2D JRPG slated for release sometime in 2021, will take gamers on an adventure while teaching them to both speak and write the language. Players will learn the three different Japanese writing systems—hiragana, katakana, and kanji—which they will use as weapons to advance in the game. In-game text is in English, romaji, and Japanese, allowing players to associate Japanese characters with their meaning while also learning pronunciation....

Xbox UK released a video from their Women of Xbox UK division, with the goal of promoting and encouraging diversity within the gaming industry. Night Teeth is very entertaining, not particularly scary, and more of an action film than a straight horror movie. Ninjala will be getting two further seasons, just revealed by the game’s developers GungHo Online, which will apparently be brimming with exciting new content. Ninjala is a free-to-play online multiplayer action game wherein you wield Ninja-Gum to use against your opponents in an effort to become a supreme ninja, as one does. The game was released at the end of last month exclusively for the Nintendo Switch and it’s taken off in a big way since then, already having accumulated 2 million downloads and counting....

There was a time, during the advent of the Wii remote, that Nintendo really got into the idea of fitness games. Wii Sports launched with the Wii, and while fitness wasn’t the goal as much as showing off the fun of motion controls, Nintendo still clearly noticed how the game got people moving. While much of the hype and expectation around Nvidia’s next generation graphics cards was focused on the hugely powerful GeForce RTX 3090 and RTX 3080, the reveal also created excitement for just how good a deal the RTX 3070 appears to be. Now Nvidia has announced that the mid-range Ampere powered card will launch on October 15, a couple of weeks sooner than expected by many. A post on the Nvidia Reddit page by representative NV_Tim revealed the launch date, which had previously been marked only as October, with many gamers expecting a release late in the month so Nvidia could focus on the RTX 3090 and RTX 3080 launch windows....

In the premiere season of Only Murders in the Building, we were treated to a renaissance of the comedic chops of icons Steve Martin and Martin Short, and the sardonic wit of Selena Gomez.
