While very few look on the original fondly, a new Power Glove-esque controller for virtual and alternate reality has been funded via Kickstarter. The CaptoGlove is a motion control input device that allows users to perform basic digital actions with small gestures like waving, rolling a hand, or mimicking pulling a trigger. CaptoGlove is currently running a Kickstarter campaign which has already passed its goal of $50,000. Less than a day remains in the campaign, however, so any prospective supporters best check out the CaptoGlove now....

Another map has just been added to Overwatch, this time taking players to Busan, South Korea, the home of everyone’s favorite professional gamer turned MEKA pilot. Over time, stages that represent the various heroes and villains of Overwatch have been added to the game, such as Eichenwalde for Reinhardt and Oasis for Symmetra. Now, it’s miss D.Va’s turn to battle it out on her home turf. Busan has gone live, finally making its jump from the PTR....

While PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is best known for its multiplayer battle royale mode, publisher PUGB Corporation has announced that a new narrative-focused PUBG game is currently in development at a brand new studio led by former Dead Space and Call of Duty developer, Glen Schofield. The new game will not be a sequel to PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds or another battle royale title, something PUBG creator Brendan Greene has previously expressed no interest in developing....

The existence of an upgraded Nintendo Switch model has been hinted at by the developers of the Monster Boy games, in response to a point made about next-gen systems. The Nintendo Switch is currently the weakest console on the market, and it will look even more antiquated when the PS5 and Xbox Series S/X are released later on this year. Graphics aren’t everything, however, as Nintendo has proven by outselling the Xbox One in the space of a few years....

The next Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity update will move beyond cinematic cutscenes and reveal actual gameplay and characters in a 50-minute program at 8 am CST on September 25. The game’s official trailer highlighted the story, beautifully showcasing the events that happened 100 years prior to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. This news comes from Twitter user PushDustIn-Nintendo News and Trivia, who helps Western fans with a translation assist....

Overwatch recently celebrated its second anniversary, and is showing no signs of slowing down. In fact, game director Jeff Kaplan has released a new developer update that that details what the future holds for the game - including a major Symmetra rework. Overwatch hasn’t tried to keep the Symmetra rework a secret, but now we know it’s coming in the next patch (and is already available in the PTR). This update gives Symmetra a map-spanning shield as a new Ultimate ability, allows her to throw her turrets, and gives her regular access to a teleporter....

Nintendo has celebrated the second anniversary of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate with specially made screenshots that show off the characters in the game. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate was one of the most highly-anticipated Nintendo games of the past decade, thanks to the return of every cut character, and the addition of fan-favorite characters, like Ridley and King K. Rool. The reaction to the game far exceeded Nintendo’s expectations, as Super Smash Bros....

It doesn’t look like The Legend of Zelda is getting a 35th-anniversary bundle like Mario did which is certainly unfortunate but, on the bright side, Skyward Sword HD - not the original - is headed to the Nintendo Switch with Joy-Con motion control and button support. You can play it with or without the swinging of your Joy-Con but there are also themed Zelda Joy-Cons releasing to celebrate its release. It’s not quite a console ala Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury or even Monster Hunter but it’s certainly something all the same....

I’ve been slowly but surely making my way through Haikyu over the last couple of weeks, by which I mean I’ve sat down to watch it twice and smashed through exactly eight episodes on both occasions. While I already wrote about how it’s reminded me of why I used to love sports as a teenager, I’m predominantly fascinated by how well it grapples with character arcs. I feel as if I’m rooting for everyone in Haikyu all the time, including people on opposing teams....

No Man’s Sky’s post-launch transformation continues into 2019 with the announcement of another major free update. Friday morning Sean Murray revealed plans for an upcoming Beyond update, which he described as Hello Games’ “most ambitious chapter so far.” While Murray wasn’t willing to share all of Beyond’s secrets just yet, he did confirm that it would include a “radical” new social and multiplayer experience named No Man’s Sky Online. Beyond is planned to launch this summer....

Nvidia appears to be preparing for the launch of its next generation of GeForce graphics cards, as information about the cards continues to leak week to week. After queries about cross-platform play for its new and mega-popular game Overwatch, Blizzard confirms that the company is considering cross-platform possibilities for consoles. It’s been a few weeks since the release of Overwatch, Blizzard’s first new IP in 17 years, and the game has been nothing short of a massive success. In yet another case of something so common it strains the definition of “news,” an Overwatch League player was suspended and ultimately fired for terrible behavior. This time it’s Jonathan “DreamKazper” Sanchez, formerly of the Boston Uprising, being booted over sexual misconduct allegations. Allegations went up on Twitter for the world to see on Sunday, and were met with a contract termination on Monday. Sanchez was exposed on Twitter on Sunday the 8th when screenshots of his conversations with a 14-year-old fan were posted on Twitter....
