Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion’s Revenge is getting a sequel. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the animated film is titled Mortal Kombat Legends: Battle of the Realms, and it’s expected to be released later this summer. Battle of the Realms will bring together much of the original cast and creative team from Scorpion’s Revenge. In terms of cast members, Joel McHale will return as the voice of Johnny Cage, Jennifer Carpenter as Sonya Blade, Jordan Rodrigues as Liu Kang, and Patrick Seitz as Scorpion, among others....

Christmas is very nearly upon us, and to celebrate in a somewhat alternative (but still strangely charming) way, the folks behind upcoming survival horror game Mundaun are giving us a little treat. The game itself won’t be coming out until next year, but Mundaun’s developer Hidden Fields and publisher MWM Interactive have invited us to make this year’s Christmas a very Mundaun-y one in the meantime. They’ve put together a bunch of eerily beautiful seasonally-fitting snapshots of the game, along with GIFs being released as part of a unique Mundaun-themed advent calendar on the game’s official Twitter feed....

Battle royale games are all the rage nowadays, with titles like Fortnite and PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds standing as two of the most popular online games in recent memory. As with other video game trends, a lot of other developers are hoping to get a piece of the pie, and that includes Scavengers, the studio behind the upcoming battle royale game The Darwin Project. First announced during Microsoft’s E3 2017 press conference, The Darwin Project is a console launch exclusive for Xbox One that will be available through the Game Preview program beginning Friday, March 9 for $14....

That plus Kinect Star Wars, which released today, has set the ad world ablaze, plastering Star Wars over every soda can, billboard and 7-11 across the country. The most recent ad campaign is from Brisk Iced Tea, which has been invading television sets and with their weird stop motion commercials featuring bobble-headed famous people; in this case Yoda and fan favorite Darth Maul, who is being heavily promoting this time around, possibly to wash the stank off the fact that Jar Jar Binks has more screen time....

Zombie games are so plentiful these days that even at a dime a dozen, they seem overpriced. But Skystone Games’ take on the zombie genre, Undying, seems far more heartfelt than anything we’ve seen lately. Undying, developed by the indie studio Vanimals, starts off at a point of no return: the player character, Anling, has been bitten by a zombie. As everyone with any familiarity with zombie lore knows, this means Anline will eventually turn into a zombie herself....

It’s been almost five years since we last saw a new game in the Tony Hawk series, but it appears as if that wait might end sooner than you may have expected. According to a recent leak, a brand new game in the popular skateboarding series is already in the works, and it could be coming out as soon as this year. A band by the name of The Death Set recently shared on Facebook that they’ve just licensed five new songs to be used in a 2020 Tony Hawk game....

As you adventure with Oliver and friends in Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch, Oliver will learn new spells to add to his Wizard’s Companion, and learning all of the spells within the game will earn you the “Magic Master” trophy. However, while many spells are unlocked via story progression, some are optional and easily missed. These optional spells are given by a character named Horace, and only if you are able to solve his various riddles....

Previously announced last month, the upcoming mobile game NieR: Reincarnation has just received its first official trailer. Given that the latest footage serves as the first look for the NieR mobile game, it doesn’t really show that much action. Instead, the trailer mostly revolves around the game’s basic movements, which was showcased via a young woman moving around a series of ruins with a companion following her. The companion that was shown in the trailer appears to be similar to a pod sidekick that was featured in NieR: Automata....

Ninja has stepped back from competitive play during Fortnite Chapter 2’s second season and recently opened up about why that is. Fortnite Chapter 2: Season 2 is in full swing at this point, but things still feel very different. It feels as if Epic has made more changes to the popular battle royale game than ever before, probably because the previous season was Fortnite’s longest ever. Between the addition of minibosses and new locations, the game is almost unrecognizable compared to this time last year....

Ninjala developer GungHo Online Entertainment has made it clear in recent times that it won’t be tolerating problematic players who make the game more unpleasant for everybody else. Earlier this week, it threatened to ban players who repeatedly engage in unsportsmanlike behavior, and today it called out another group at risk of being hit with bans. In a new statement on the game’s official website, GungHo issued a warning to players who “repeatedly exit the Matching Lobby after entering,” following “considerable user feedback” regarding the issue....

As 2020 reaches its halfway point, it is time to gaze back at Nintendo’s offerings so far. The Japanese company has published eight games over the last six months, with titles such as Paper Mario: The Origami King and the Famicom Tantei Club remakes expected to drop later down the line. Along with a myriad of third-party titles and ports of older games, the Switch has welcomed a small handful of Nintendo projects, one of which has arguably been the most discussed game of the year at this point in time....
