The original voice actor for Nurse Joy in the Pokémon anime is returning after a sixteen-year long break, as Megan Hollingshead will be voicing characters in Pokémon Journeys: The Series. Nurse Joy has been a part of the Pokémon anime since the second episode when Ash brought his injured Pikachu in for treatment. The various Nurse Joys are a major part of the franchise and they can be seen in Pokémon Centers throughout the world....

Square Enix has revealed its intentions to share a new trailer and announce the release date of its highly-anticipated game, Octopath Traveler Tairiku no Hasha on Sept. 18. In a message shared via Octopath Traveler’s Japanese Twitter account, it thanked eager fans for waiting for an update, acknowledging how they had been waiting for a “long time.” Alongside the announcement of a trailer and a release date, it also highlighted how it will be providing detailed information on the game itself....

Occasionally a television or game series will come to an end long before it discovers its true potential. That’s definitely the case for the 2002 series Firefly, which was very successful at building a following, but only after it was cancelled. Overwatch has a ton of character skins, voice lines, emotes, poses, and highlight intros, but players haven’t been able to choose how their weapons would look without choosing a different character skin or using the gold weapon skin. A future update to Overwatch may finally change this, as alternate weapon skins were spotted on heroes in the Doomfist preview video. Two notable instances of characters holding weapons that don’t match their skins are Sombra wielding a green SMG and Soldier 76 holding a dark pulse rifle with orange accents despite both having their default skins....

Big changes are coming to Overwatch matchmaking. The team-based shooter is introducing a role queue system that has players queue for individual roles: damage, tank, and support. Players choose what role they want to play in a match, queue for that role and are matched with other players in different roles. Developer Jeff Kaplan announced in a developer update that role queue will be implemented on August 17th, and will appear on the Public Test Server on PC before then....

Parkitect is getting a free update that adds online multiplayer. The update releases on December 8. Texel Raptor, the developers of Parkitect, are celebrating the release of Parkitect 1.0. Parkitect released two years ago this week, and to celebrate, a new update is launching that adds co-op. Up to eight players can build a theme park together online. Players can see what other players are building, so they can coordinate how to build the park....

At PAX East over the weekend, we had the opportunity to chat with with Raul Rubio, CEO and Creative Director for Tequila Works, and got our hands on their upcoming Xbox Live Arcade title, Deadlight. Deadlight is a side-scrolling platform puzzler similar in style and presentation to Shadow Complex, but with a much heavier slant towards survival and melee. Mr. Rubio himself went to great lengths to explain the game’s chief influences, and from viewing the game footage and playing it ourselves, it became clear that these influences collectively form the baseline minute-to-minute gameplay of the experience....
