Overwatch 2 has finally reemerged at BlizzCon 2021, after a long silence. Blizzard has revealed a host of new details for the highly anticipated sequel to the beloved hero shooter, including new maps set in Rome and New York City. Blizzard has also just revealed some sleek new designs for fan-favorite characters McCree, Pharah, Reaper, and Widowmaker. Details have been rather scarce since Overwatch 2 was announced back in 2019. Fans hopeful for a potential release of the game this year had their hopes dashed earlier this month when it was confirmed during an Activision-Blizzard that Overwatch 2 likely won’t launch in 2021....

Today, the publisher and developer Blizzard took the liberty of officially making Overwatch’s latest seasonal event live, with Halloween Terror 2017 now allowing players to earn a new range of sprays, cosmetics, emotes, highlights, avatars, voice lines, and costume skins from special loot boxes. Speaking of fresh duds for the game’s heroes, the studio decided to add eight new skins in all, while also bringing back plenty of fan favorites from last year’s event....

Overwatch has no shortage of Easter eggs referencing other Blizzard properties, with the Blizzard World map being built entirely out of areas focused on the studio’s other projects. With so many references inside Overwatch, it is not too surprising that an Easter egg went unnoticed for so long, even if the World of Warcraft acknowledgement seems obvious in retrospect. Considering that World of Warcraft has already referenced the iconic Overwatch turret-maker Torbjorn, it makes sense that the hero shooter’s developers would return the favor in some way....

The successful multiplayer hero shooter Overwatch celebrates another major milestone, having reached 25 million registered players since launching in May of 2016. Although many had questions about the game’s quality prior to release, Overwatch has proven to be another rousing success for developer Blizzard. So much so that the title has already amassed a 25 million player base in less than a year on the market. Keep in mind that the player base does not mean that there are 25 million gamers actively playing Overwatch at any given time....

North American Overwatch Contenders team, Skyfoxes, bolstered their front lines after adding Byung-ho “Panker” Lee to their roster following the release of Michael “Mikeyy” Konicki. The main-tank is a seasoned veteran of the game and should help the tremendously Skyfoxes going forward. Before the beginning of the inaugural season of the Overwatch League, Panker played for Kongdoo Uncia, a South Korean team participating in Overwatch APEX- the premier competitive Overwatch scene....

With cult classics such as No More Heroes and Shadows of the Damned under his belt, Suda 51 is gearing up to bring another memorable title to the masses with Lollipop Chainsaw. The game offers a stark contrast between bubblegum-pop style and zombie horror. Think Hello Kitty or Lisa Frank meets the Walking Dead. For the uninitiated, Juliet Starling is out with her boyfriend Nick when a zombie outbreak occurs. Nick then gets bitten by a zombie and in a desperate attempt to save his life, Juliet cuts off his head....

After producing a string of successful games, including two entries in the popular Monument Valley puzzle game series, Ustwo Games is ready to unveil its next project. In a recent YouTube teaser, the indie developer unveiled Alba: A Wildlife Adventure. The brief 30 second trailer takes place on a colorful mountain overlooking a shore with sailboats and a small island on the horizon. After introducing Ustwo Games and its previous hit titles through a series of books, papers, and photographs emblazoned with art from past projects, the camera pans over a Mediterranean fauna guidebook, a camera, a clipboard holding a sign up sheet for an “island cleanup initiative,” and a newspaper headline about two girls starting a wildlife league....

The new intro video between Spawn and Joker in Mortal Kombat 11 is just perfection. Spawn is coming. He arrives for Kombat Pack owners on March 17th, with everyone else being able to download him starting on March 24th. We got a peek at his gameplay last week, and Spawn looks like he’ll be a zoning and ranged-attacking menace. And it looks like he’ll have some pretty hilarious intros, too. In a video posted to the Mortal Kombat 11 subreddit, we get to see how Joker and Spawn get along....

Warner Bros. and DC are currently holding DC FanDome online, an event packed full of news and reveals for the latest DC Comics films, TV shows, and video games. Gotham Knights has already been revealed, and later tonight Rocksteady’s Suicide Squad game will be unveiled. NetherRealm Studios saw an opportunity in all the hype to try and get Mortal Kombat 11 some of the spotlight, too. To celebrate the occasion, NetherRealm is bringing back Arkham Anarchy....

In My Time in Portia the stamina bar will decrease with everything you do, and your health probably isn’t going to be high. In order to survive going in dungeons or even building throughout the day, you will need to learn to cook some recipes that will help you keep going all day long....

Mobile hero shooter Disorder just dropped in North America. Are hero shooters still a genre? Apparently so, given the recent release of Bleeding Edge and the impending release of VALORANT. Chinese tech conglomerate NetEase also believes that hero shooters are the way to go, so they’ve recently surprised us with the release of Disorder: For Whom The Bell Tolls. It’s a mobile-only, team-based hero shooter that takes place 10 years in the future....

Netflix isn’t one to shy away from new ideas. At just about any time, the service is testing new options and services around the world, many of which gradually get a universal release. Just recently however, the company is interested in trying an old idea, ‘Linear Channels.’ Basically Netflix is trying to be more like regular TV, but for now it’ll only be available in France. For those not familiar with the terminology, a ‘Linear Channel’ is basically just traditional television....

One could argue that the character hasn’t truly held the imagination of the public since 1966, when the first season of the Batman TV series premiered, and the nation was gripped by a wave of what was dubbed “Batmania.” A character who had, to that point, only appeared in two comic stories suddenly became one of the most recognizable supervillains in the world, thanks in no small part to Frank Gorshin’s inimitable performance....

While we continue to wait for more news on Elder Scrolls VI, the Beyond Skyrim team is breathing new life into Skyrim with Black Marsh. Beyond Skyrim is a collaborative project between several modding teams that create continent expansion mods for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Each mod aims to offer new quests, NPCs, weapons, armor, oddities, a unique soundtrack, and an entirely new map to explore. So far, Bruma is their only completed project, which was released in 2017 to high acclaim....

It’s the power of three in new video game trailers today with the third release in the Deadliest Warrior series, the third iteration of GoldenEye and an alternate release of Marvel vs. Capcom 3. Destiny 2’s latest dungeon will have Guardians dive into an Escher drawing filled with synthwave music. Okay, we get it: ‘80s synthwave is a theme going through gaming right now. I thought it was going to run its course like all fads, but I forgot that Destiny still hadn’t released it’s latest season yet. That meant there’s still at least one more game to jump on the bandwagon, and it arrives in the form of a new dungeon....

Bit Fry Games, OneTeam Partners, and the NFL Players Association announced a new partnership yesterday to create a licensed NFL game. Bit Fry Games, the developers of Ultimate Rivals: The Rink and Ultimate Rivals: The Court, brings together athletes across different sports into one game to play hockey and basketball. These games let athletes like Alex Ovechkin from the NHL play with soccer superstar Alex Morgan. This new game will take this formula and bring various athletes to the world of the NFL....
