The popular mobile game Angry Birds hit phones in 2009 and was a smash hit sensation inspiring toys, games, and even movies. Angry Birds, the game, is about pigs stealing the eggs of birds who now have to break through their defenses to get their eggs back without cracking them. interestingly, the pigs were chosen as the bad guys because of the outbreak of the swine flu during the development, almost as menacing as the 30-50 hogs that took over gaming memes a while back....

More rumors surrounding the still unannounced Nintendo Switch Pro are here, and this time one of them flies in the face of another. Despite rumors that it would be officially announced by the end of last week, and that assembly will start as soon as July, there is still no word from Nintendo on the Switch Pro. In fact, there has been so little information on the hypothetical console that we don’t even know if it will actually be called the Switch Pro....

In a move no one saw coming, it looks like Nintendo is discontinuing the very vibrant red, the classic soft grey, and the neon yellow version of the Nintendo Switch Joy-Con controllers. The colors are still available for custom Nintendo Switch bundles, and there is no clear answer for how soon they will be unavailable — or how difficult it will be to obtain the discontinued Joy-Cons. If you are unable to get a hold of these retired colors and desperately want them, there are some do it yourself options to change the color and appearance of your Joy-Cons....

More than 500 million games have been bought on Nintendo Switch. That’s more than the 3DS and Wii U combined. The Nintendo Switch continues to go from strength to strength, as was proved by 2020 and has been confirmed by some updated stats on Nintendo’s website. The company has revealed more than 532 million Switch games have been sold so far. That’s quite the feat for a console that hasn’t even been on the market for four years at this point....

Earlier today, it was reported that online services for Nintendo Online were experiencing an outage, thus prohibiting players from taking full advantage of some games. After the initial reports were made, Nintendo Japan has offered additional information regarding the outage, and based on the company’s statement, users will have to wait indefinitely. Going into more detail about the outage itself, it seems that the situation is more serious than initially thought....

Nintendo has finally confirmed that a new, smaller version of the Switch is coming, but will gamers be able to freely switch between the two? There have been rumors abound for months that Nintendo has been quietly working on a smaller version of the Switch. There have even been sites selling accessories for what most of them dubbed the “Switch Mini.” While we now know that a smaller version of the Switch is coming later this year, Nintendo has decided to call it the Lite rather than the Mini....

Team Ninja’s action RPG Nioh 2 will be coming to the PlayStation 5 on February 5, 2021, as part of The Nioh Collection, which includes a remastered version of the first game, Nioh 2 Remastered, and all DLC for both titles. Players who already own both games and the DLC on PS4 will be able to upgrade to the PS5 versions for free. In preparation for the launch of Nioh 2 on PS5, developer Team Ninja has released Patch 1....

No Man’s Sky is better than ever on next-gen consoles. Next Generation, as it was appropriately called, brought 4K graphics (at 60fps), updated ultra visuals with better lighting, textures, animations, draw distances, and animations, faster loading times, 32-player multiplayer with full crossplay, and more vibrant planets just teaming with plants and animals. It was yet another huge update that Hello Games gave to No Man’s Sky owners absolutely free of charge....

No Man’s Sky has been remade in another fan-project, courtesy this time, of modder Robert Prest. No Guy’s Sky is a mod of the classic 1993 shooter Doom. 343 Industries has updated fans on the upcoming multiplayer flight for Halo Infinite, saying that there are still no concrete plans for the release date just yet. The news comes from 343 community manager John Junyszek, who was asked when the multiplayer flight sessions will take place. In response to the question, John confirmed that there were no concrete plans just yet, although the team will reveal them ahead of time....

Is virtual reality the future of gaming? Oculus VR, creator of the much-hyped Oculus Rift headset, certainly thinks so, and their wildly successful crowdfunding campaign indicates that many gamers agree. The technology’s been praised by developers like Doom guru John Carmack (who joined the company), and Minecraft creator Markus “Notch” Persson who pledged $10,000 to the Oculus Rift’s initial Kickstarter campaign. Almost everyone who’s tried the Rift at a convention or trade show raves about the experience, and highly anticipated new games announce Oculus support practically every day....

The appeal of Marvel HeroClix is simple, and maybe a little gimmicky: you field a team of tiny figures based on superheroes and supervillains. The figures’ bases rotate with a “click” to reveal their stats as they take damage or transform. No stat sheets, because it’s all there on the figure. No need for battlemaps unless you want to pay extra for the immersion. All you really need are some figures and your imagination to stage epic battles from the comics....

When it comes to the creation of a game as evidently inspired as Hades, there are obviously a variety of influences at play. From the Greek mythology ostensibly threaded throughout its narrative, to the less predictable presence of the MCU’s version of Loki, the voice actor for Hades protagonist Zagreus recently confirmed that there’s another influence floating around in there, too: Radioohead’s Thom Yorke. Darren Korb — who wears the songwriter, composer, and voice actor hats in Hades — has a long history of working with Supergiant Games....

Each year, Blizzard graces us with an anniversary event filled with new imaginative skins and other cosmetics, as well as the opportunity to play any of the game modes from previous seasonal events. Earlier today, a trailer was released which revealed Overwatch’s newest hero, Brigitte. A second video has now came out in which game designer Jeff Kaplan provides more information about Brigitte, including her skills and origin story. Interesting to note from the video, the correct way to say her name has it rhyming with Vegeta (although it is a hard g pronunciation, like golf or girl). Brigitte Lindholm is the youngest daughter of Torbjorn, Overwatch’s resident engineer and weapon designer....
