Outlast 2 Developer Explains Why Game Was Originally Banned

It’s been an interesting month for Outlast 2 and developer Red Barrels. First, the upcoming horror game was banned in Australia after being refused classification by the Australian Classification Board, but then that decision was overturned after a second review. Now, Red Barrels is explaining what went wrong the first time around, blaming the ban on a video file with alpha footage of the game. “The original submission of Outlast 2 sent to the Australian Classification Branch contained the final game code and a video file for reference taken from an Alpha version of the game,” Red Barrels wrote in a statement to IGN....

Overwatch Freeze Bug Makes Mei Unplayable

A new Overwatch bug makes the cryofreezing character Mei almost unplayable. The bug reared its ugly head following the patch which introduced the Overwatch Uprising event along with its new modes and loot. As documented by competitive Overwatch players on social media, the bug seems to slow down the rate at which Mei’s primary fire slows down her enemies. While the blast of freezing power used to turn opponents to blocks of ice fairly quickly (thus allowing them to be finished off with her icicle secondary fire), this glitch means that it takes a little longer to freeze them and speedy characters such as Lucio can avoid getting frozen far easier....

Overwatch Just Banned A Large Group Of Cheaters

Blizzard bans another large group of Overwatch cheaters, with the focus this time being on players who use “aimbots” and “triggerbots” to get ahead in the game. With Blizzard’s new first-person shooter, Overwatch, mostly played in online multiplayer (save for training against bots) some players try to get ahead by cheating. Blizzard has previously attempted to restore a level playing field to the game, as it permanently banned over 1500 cheaters, even naming and shaming the players on the company’s official forums....

Paper Mario The Origami King Spirits Are Coming To Super Smash Bros Ultimate

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is going 2D, as the next set of Spirits that will be added to the game are based on characters from Paper Mario: The Origami King. The Super Smash Bros. series already has two different Marios (regular and Dr.), but many fans would be delighted if Paper Mario made his way into the game. Paper Mario is different enough from his 3D counterparts to justify a slot, and many attacks from his series could be repurposed in order to give him a unique moveset, rather than turning him into an Echo Fighter....

Monster Hunter Rise Players Should Prepare For The Desire Sensor

As players prepare to jump into Monster Hunter Rise, new and veteran players are going to have to face one of the most difficult challenges faced by the series’ RNG systems. That would be the notorious “Desire Sensor” that players dread might attempt to extend their playtimes while making the process of building new armor and weapons in Monster Hunter feel nearly impossible. This dubious mechanic can supposedly detect what players want or need in order to create certain pieces of gear and denies them the reward their looking for until a certain threshold of time or monster kills passes....

Mortal Kombat 9 Best Non Canon Character Endings In The Franchise

Aside from its signature and controversial Fatalities, Mortal Kombat is loved for its unique take on character endings. With the realms at stake and ultimate power ripe for the taking, each game features diverse and personal endings for its Kombatants. In turn, players have to wait for the next game to determine which character endings serve as canon. However, just because non-canon endings exist doesn’t mean they’re innately unappealing. In fact, a lot of fans might argue that some non-canon character endings are more entertaining and appealing than their canon counterparts....

The culture surrounding the game, meanwhile, has had its reliance on racial stereotypes called into question. Many are calling for a complete rethinking of race in D&D, both on a mechanical and social level....

New Kickstarter Project Combines Build A Bear With D D Minis

Back in the ancient times of 2019, people used to play Dungeons & Dragons in person. We have since adopted a new way, the way of virtual tabletops and Zoom calls (or Discord for the connoisseur). One of the latest TikTok trends uses a sound from the 90s PlayStation game PaRappa the Rapper, specifically the song that’s sung by PaRappa and his driver’s education teacher early in the game.
