Video game developer Ninja Theory is looking to hire a number of positions as 2021 continues to move forward. The studio is looking to hire talent across multiple disciplines, as it has multiple AAA projects in the pipeline. The UK-based game studio is perhaps best known for its work on titles such as Heavenly Sword, Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice, and the divisive DmC: Devil May Cry. Ninja Theory was one of five studios acquired by Microsoft back in 2018, meaning the job listings are for Xbox-exclusive projects....

Nintendo’s flagship siblings, the Super Mario Brothers, are easily some of gaming’s strongest and most popular heroes. Both Mario and Luigi have been on countless adventures, debuting in arcades during the 1980s and still showing up on the Nintendo Switch, and are known by all sorts of people around the world. While they often stand side-by-side, they’re still far from equal in terms of their talents and abilities. If they were to compete, there’s certainly one that would come out the better brother, and it’s time to put them against each other....

Today, as part of Nintendo’s Nindies Showcase, it was announced that Cuphead will be making its way to Nintendo Switch in April. Check out the reveal trailer below. Cuphead was originally released on Xbox One and PC in 2017. It was an instant success, garnering acclaim for its challenging level design and unique 1930s cartoon-inspired art style. The gameplay features run-and-gun platforming, and lots of boss encounters. It has won numerous awards....

Nintendo will shut down streaming services on the Wii console starting next year. It looks like it’s the beginning of the end for the Nintendo Wii. According to a recent announcement from Netflix, the best-selling home console from the mid-2000s will no longer support video streaming starting on January 30th, 2019. Not only that, but Nintendo is also shutting down the Wii Shop Channel. This means that Wii users will no longer be able to download any previously purchased WiiWare or Virtual Console software....

Nvidia is having a fantastic year. Not only is the company riding the waves of success from their most recent lineup of graphics cards, but their entire business outlook for the next decade is very promising. 2020 has seen Nvidia stock stand out as one of the top performers in the market in what has been a pretty tough year for some companies, yet their 130% growth speaks for itself. Despite the 3000 series being a resounding hit among those lucky gamers able to find products in stock, that’s just a piece of a much bigger landscape....

Observer: System Redux is an enhanced edition of the original, complete with all sorts of new bells and whistles like 4K resolutions and ray-tracing. All the new storyline content, though, is the big draw for fans of the original. Any new narrative additions come as a surprise considering Rutger Hauer, the legendary actor that voiced Daniel, passed away last year. Not only that, Daniel shares Hauer’s likeness. So Bloober Team had to utilize unused recordings from Hauer to make the new cases coalesce with the existing storyline....

Shocking the world earlier today, Microsoft announced it had made one of the biggest transactions in recent memory, acquiring Bethesda and its long list of blockbuster franchises. These include Doom, Wolfenstein, Starfield, Dishonored, and The Elder Scrolls, with Xbox quickly solving its widely touted exclusive problem by purchasing some of the biggest IPs on the market. Of course, among these is the infinitely popular Fallout series, which many would agree is a massive asset for Microsoft....

Blizzard has revealed that Overwatch 2 is still planned for release on the Switch, but confirmed that it will come with “some compromises”. The confirmation comes from an AMA on Reddit to celebrate the five-year anniversary of Overwatch. Fans sent in a ton of different questions regarding Overwatch 2, but most were met with promises of more information coming later. The most concrete bit of information is in regards to the Switch version of the game, which had a few updates throughout the post....

Two Overwatch League players have each been fined a whopping $1000 because they typed some obscenities in their match chat over this last weekend. The culprits in question are San Francisco Shock’s Dong-jun “Rascal” Kim and Los Angeles Valiant’s Jung-won “Lastro” Mun. During an online match this weekend, “as a joke” Lastro thought he’d bless the in-game match chat with the words “sex” and “big dick,” apparently not thinking that the chat was also visible to spectators of the match....

Mortal Kombat is a franchise that really needs no introduction. One of the most influential fighters of its time, its success can be attributed to both its innovations and its controversies. MK has firmly solidified itself as a juggernaut in gaming. Lately, MK has become a bit stagnant, though. Innovations like its storytelling and the over-reliance on gratuitous amounts of gore being its main gimmick have become hollow. It feels as though now is probably a better time than ever for another spin-off game like Shaolin Monks to come in and give the main series a breather....

As Mortal Kombat 11 barrels toward its eventual release, more and more of its roster is becoming known. It was recently confirmed that Jade would appear on the roster of the gory fighting game franchise’s latest installment, and now it seems as if Johnny Cage will be joining her as well. It’s worth mentioning how many teases, roster leaks, and more have surrounded the latest fighting title. There was a major roster leak recently that suggested Erron Black and perhaps even Rain could be making appearances in the game, but perhaps most notable is the rumor that Stryker will appear in the latest installment voiced by WWE superstar John Cena....

The Souls-like genre has exploded in recent years, with FromSoftware’s Demon’s Souls and Dark Souls games spawning a number of imitators of vastly differing quality. Now, Mortal Shell has entered the ring from developer Cold Symmetry, a small studio of triple-A veterans. And while Mortal Shell has its fair share of troubles, it successfully captures what makes Souls-like games so alluring to so many. Mortal Shell stays true to the core of the genre, offering a difficult experience with the narrative mostly relegated to text blurbs and lore scattered around the world....

A pair of 2012’s most acclaimed games are charging right along into 2013. 2K Games and Ubisoft have each announced new DLC offerings for XCOM: Enemy Unknown and Assassin’s Creed 3, respectively, and they’re ready for download now. We’ll start chronologically, so as not to play favorites, with the early October-releasing Enemy Unknown. 2K and Firaxis revealed today that the “Second Wave” content pack is available for download now on the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 – at no additional charge....

Atlus has acknowledged the leaked trailer of Persona 5 Strikers, claiming that the Phantom Thieves of Hearts were responsible and that more information about the game will be revealed on December 8. Persona 5 Strikers is an upcoming Musou game that is set sixth months after the events of Persona 5. The game is currently available in Japan as Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers, but there was no word on a release date for the English localization of the game for the longest time....
