Warhammer 40K conjures very specific images for people. Those images are typically of extremely detailed miniatures of armored Space Marines, or perhaps a swarm of terrifying Tyranids, made of teeth and scale and insanity. For actual collectors and players, it no doubt also conjures dollar bill signs, as Warhammer 40K can be an expensive hobby, with the most expensive Warhammer models costing hundreds of dollars. Granted, it’s an investment that fans of Warhammer 40k are willing to make for how much fun it is....

Pathfinder and Starfinder publisher Paizo is back at Gen Con this year with four days of live events and organized play. The catch? Paper Mario’s back, y’all. For the first time in a long while, it feels that Nintendo has tried to hew closer to the formula they established back on the GameCube. While The Origami King is certainly a strange take on traditional JRPG mechanics, it’s unmistakably a fusion of inspired puzzle gameplay and classic Paper Mario combat. With the return of that classic combat also come action commands - an inspired blend of timed button presses and QTEs that set the series apart from other JRPGs… with apologies to The Legend of Dragoon....

On Wednesday, May 27th, Alex Massé announced on his Patreon that technical artist Roxane Morin had left the Paralives team the day prior. As bigger budget games become flashier and more complex with each new generation, it’s nice to go back to a simpler time with a charming little indie game. Often unrestricted from focus groups and marketing testing, one of the sub-genres that has cropped up in the wake of Braid’s release in 2008 is what I like to call the “indie puzzle platformer.” There are games that borrow ideas from popular franchises and take an approach that isn’t dissimilar to how Nintendo structures newer Mario games....

Spawn has a lot of easter eggs in his Mortal Kombat 11 intros, but the coolest might just be his intro with Raiden. Spawn is coming to Mortal Kombat 11. He arrives for Kombat Pack owners tomorrow and becomes available for general purchase one week later. That said, we’ve been getting teased mercilessly with gameplay, fatalities, and intros, and it looks like Spawn has a pretty awesome Batman easter egg during his intro with Raiden....

Your Nintendo Switch is about to get dirtier than it already is (we know your secrets), except this time around, it will be from actual dirt. Earlier this week, publisher THQ Nordic and developer Rainbow Studios announced that MX vs ATV All Out will be racing onto Nintendo’s portable console on September 1, 2020. The off-road racing title - which is already available now for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC - will be making its way to the Switch with all of the modes that fans of the game already love, including Supercross, Nationals, Opencross, Waypoint, and Freestyle competitions....
