Overwatch’s scattered backstory has been further revealed via messages from Winston’s former mentor: Harold Winston. The brief look into the history of Blizzard’s first-person shooter could hint at a number of things, including the possibility of the rumored ‘Moon’ map coming soon. According to a new post on the Overwatch forum, new messages have been acquired from the Horizon Lunar Colony prior to the moon-base going offline. The scientists on board seem to have been having issues with the genetically-enhanced gorillas on the base, shortly before the animal subjects staged an uprising to kill all their humans companions....

Overwatch has a constantly shifting meta, letting some characters become key assets, and having others occasionally fall out of popularity. One Overwatch character who still hasn’t really seen a solid fit into the game’s meta since her introduction is the quadrupedal tank Orisa. The cult classic horror game P.T. has yet another fan remake revealed. This time, though, things get a bit strange as the new take on the classic game is something that no one has done for this game before, yet it is surprisingly effective at creating a spooky environment. This time around, the P.T. remake is dubbed Hyper P.T. because it was recreated using HyperCard, an extremely outdated development tool that was used for Macs....

The dates for this year’s PAX West have been revealed, along with the news that the event will be held in-person for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic forced most major events to be held virtually. This year, PAX West will be held in Seattle at the Washington State Convention Center from September 3 - 6. This will be the first North American in-person gaming event since 2020’s PAX East....

While Epic Games’ Fortnite has become a phenomenon thanks to its battle royale mode, there is also a team-based mode that combines first-person shooter and tower defense elements called Fortnite: Save the World, focusing on players fighting AI monsters. The battle royale paid homage to this other mode by adding a skin for Constructor Penny into Fortnite this week, and it seems more may be on the way. Fortnite’s official Twitter account teased the introduction of Penny on August 12 with a series of emoji depicting a female construction worker....

Introducing Jump Force, a meeting of several major anime franchises including Naruto, Dragon Ball Z, One Piece, and Death Note.
