Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is getting another major update from Ubisoft. Today’s patch adds long-awaited transmogrification of in-game gear, a bunch of new Eivor skills, as well as in-game support for the upcoming Ostara Festival seasonal event. Ubisoft has detailed patch 1.2 for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, which is out today, March 16. The list of innovations includes gear transmogrification — something AC Valhalla players requested for a long time. Transmog will change the appearance of equipment while leaving the item’s characteristics intact....

While Fortnite continues to dominate in both popularity and sales for Epic Games, many within the community have started to speculate about the future of the game. Even though there’s still plenty of time left within Battle Royale season 3, a mysterious comet has appeared within the game, with many predicting an imminent collision with the popular location Tilted Towers. Epic remains mum on the subject for now, though a new conspiracy has appeared on Reddit leaving many convinced that the riddle has been solved....

It’s the holiday season, and Microsoft has a lot to be thankful for. The Xbox Series X/S are having a very successful launch (so much so that Xbox head Phil Spencer is even thinking about how to improve the pre-order process for the next generation). Microsoft Flight Simulator is once again the world’s best flight sim, and Minecraft is still a money printing scheme disguised as a game. Even though 2013’s Tomb Raider reboot was released to great critical acclaim, the game was not without its detractors. Many criticized the title for not living up to its namesake, with iconic protagonist Lara Croft spending most of her time surviving in the wilderness and shooting enemies, as opposed to actually raiding tombs. Crystal Dynamics has heard these complaints, though, and Rise of the Tomb Raider is looking to make up for Lara’s lack of actual tomb raiding in a big way....

Earlier this month, it was confirmed that Cyberpunk 2077, despite its incredibly violent and bloody appearance, wouldn’t allow players to kill every NPC they came across; specifically NPCs important to the story and children. This has already led to some speculating that, once the game releases on PC, someone will make a mod that will allow players to bypass this, much like the Immersive Children mod that was made for The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim last year....

Earlier this week, I got another chance to go hands-on with an alpha version of the game, and this time I explored a new region called Reekwater, a swampy, bayou-inspired zone that introduces new creatures and a robust fishing mechanic. At virtually any body of water, you can pull out a fishing rod, attach bait to your hook if you’ve got it, and cast a line in hopes of catching one of the game’s 40-plus different species of fish....

As the year moves closer to the holiday launch window of the next gen-consoles, the day-one launch lineups for the Xbox One Series X and the PS5 are slowly taking shape. And now one more title is going to be available for those who pick up an Xbox Series X on launch day: Haven, the next title from the minds behind the well-received Furi. Whereas Furi was more of a bullet-hell/hack-and-slash game, Haven is instead a co-op RPG centered around a sci-fi romance between its two protagonists, Yu and Kay....

Despite being forced to push through several different bugs, Call of Duty: Warzone players have been enjoying a new meta recently. With several weapons viable and few being useless, Call of Duty: Warzone fans can find success with almost any gun — though professional player NICKMERCS suggests giving the Bruen a try. At one point in Call of Duty: Warzone, the Bruen MK9 was the battle royale’s most overpowered gun. Being used as frequently as the MAC-10 or DMR 14 in recent months, the LMG functioned more like an Assault Rifle and peaked in popularity around August of 2020 — the same month where the Bruen also saw a major nerf....

It might look dated compared to the stunning graphics of Inquisition, but Origins might just be Bioware’s magnum opus. The first story in Thedas is crafted with real finesse, to the extent that every single playthrough is even more astounding than the last. You find your way to an ordinary Dalish camp and you’re already hearing all about the Ancient Elves that Solas makes such a fuss over. You talk to Leliana and you’re instantly introduced to the wonderfully murdery politics of Orlais....

No Man’s Sky may soon be living up to the promise of its original premise, as Hello Games has revealed No Man’s Sky Beyond - a free update for the game that will give players an experience similar to that of an MMO. When No Man’s Sky was still in production, the developers mentioned that there would be a multiplayer component to the game, although they didn’t detail how it would work and they downplayed it compared to the single player aspects of the game....

Ewan McGregor recently appeared on the Jimmy Kimmel Live! Show to talk about his upcoming show. Obi-Wan will of course star McGregor as the titular Jedi hero, but he revealed that he won’t be the only one on stage. McGregor teased a “very special scene” was filmed in honor of Star Wars Day (also known as May the 4th), and that it was with someone who Ewan has never appeared on screen with....

Xbox made headlines yesterday due to several new announcements, revealing that Outriders would be coming to Game Pass at release, Undertale would be debuting on its consoles, and several iconic Bethesda games had been enhanced with FPS Boost. Today, the team has unveiled another huge surprise for players, announcing that Square Enix’s Octopath Traveler will be coming to Xbox platforms via Game Pass later this month. The port was made official via Xbox Wire, with the Microsoft-owned outlet revealing that Octopath Traveler will debut on both the console and PC versions of Game Pass on March 25....

StarCraft: Remastered is a fine way to experience the original StarCraft and Brood War campaigns, but it’s got a few marks against it. First, you gotta pay for it, which in these trying times can be a big ask for some people, and second because it’s still based on the original StarCraft engine. That might be the best way to imitate the game’s original “feel,” but some players might want something with a bit more visual fidelity....

A new challenge event is currently available in Overwatch for Tracer, which is meant to celebrate the newly released Overwatch comic by Dark Horse Comics that stars the British ex-pilot herself. By participating in this Overwatch challenge, players can get access to a special challenge exclusive skin, a player icon, and a special spray for Tracer. This challenge will only be running from September 15th, 2020 to September 28th, 2020, so players should complete it as soon as possible....

A new Overwatch 2 leak revealed new abilities for Brigitte and Moira. Blizzard has confirmed several new features for the game, such as Overwatch 2’s player versus environment story missions and new looks for the game’s characters. On Twitter, a user named Voporeon posted a series of images they claimed are from Overwatch 2, stating the images are from a Facebook group that they are part of. In the first set of images, the player is able to choose from six talents for Brigitte....

Yesterday, a bunch of Blizzard bigwigs sat down to talk to Overwatch fans on Reddit via an AMA. This included most of the Overwatch development team’s leaders, including game director Aaron Keller, principal game designer Scott Mercer, lead hero designer Geoff Goodman, and technical director John Lafleur. You’d think with all those big names in the list fans would at least get a release date when asked directly, but that didn’t happen....

Beast Media Group announces a Paranormal Activity virtual reality game, with a playable demo accompanying select showings of the new film this weekend. Moviegoers that want to see the final Paranormal Activity film are going to have a little difficulty finding a theater actually carrying the movie this weekend, thanks to Paramount’s plan to release the film digitally not long after its theatrical run rubbing theater chains the wrong way. However, those that do still plan on seeing Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension this weekend should consider heading to their local AMC theater to watch it, as they may be in for an additional gaming treat....
