Shortly following its release, Monster Hunter World managed to have an incredibly successful launch weekend, with Capcom reporting that more than 5 million units were shipped over the course of just three days. Now, in order to commemorate the achievement and thank the action role-playing game’s fans for making it possible, the publisher and developer has announced that all players will receive a free Celebration Pack. This news comes by way of a tweet from the official Monster Hunter World Twitter account, as Capcom has stated that the free Celebration Pack is intended to be “a warm welcome to the New World” for newcomers and veteran hunters alike....

Multiplayer action-adventure Conan Chop Chop is giving Cyberpunk 2077 a run for its money on the delay front, as it receives its fourth setback. Publisher Funcom and developer Mighty Kingdom delivered the crushing news (again) that its barbaric fun won’t arrive until early 2021 on PS4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC via Steam. Funcom’s press release accompanied the new launch time frame with “and this time we really mean it”, to add a little humor to its final delay....

If you thought there weren’t enough horror games to keep you up at night this year, then Home Sweet Home: Survive’s haunting premise may be enough to get your adrenaline pumping. Developer Yggdrazil Group announced that it will launch on Steam later this year. Right off the bat, the asymmetrical game’s premise has a Dead By Daylight ring to it, however, its setting is a little different. Within the dimension of the Hindrance located between the world of the living and that of the dead, a group of survivors must choose between escaping this dimension after being trapped in its expanse, or turning into a soul collector....

The original Diablo is being remade in Diablo III and the Necromancer will be released as DLC according to announcements made during BlizzCon 2016’s keynote. Diablo III held the prime, spotlight position in the BlizzCon 2016 keynote. Capping off the hour-long event, Blizzard celebrated the Diablo franchise’s 20th anniversary by announcing a mixture of upcoming free and paid DLC for Diablo III designed to pay respect to the franchise’s history. The first major reveal was that the original Diablo was being remade as free DLC and shortly after that Blizzard confirmed plans to release the Diablo II Necromancer class as premium DLC....

For a movie that has yet to be released, Zack Snyder’s Army of the Dead is doing pretty well for itself. So well, in fact, that the brand has already locked down a prequel and an anime series to be produced for Netflix in addition to the film. Though the upcoming movie doesn’t even have a release date yet, Snyder was excited to announce additional partnerships, and seems to view Army of the Dead as an IP with great potential....

With exactly a week to go, the battle for the crown of modern military FPS is about to kick off once again. This year is looking like it could be the most fiercely contested as Call of Duty has been trending down (slightly) in recent iterations, while EA is desperate for Battlefield 4 to take the top spot that Activision has occupied since Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. Microsoft reveals ten more games for the Xbox One’s backward compatibility program, including The Witcher 2, Sam & Max Save the World and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. When Microsoft revealed a backward compatibility scheme for the Xbox One console, many were excited to see exactly which games would make it onto the roster. So far, Xbox owners have had a number of extremely strong titles revealed for the program, including the likes of Assassin’s Creed 2, Just Cause 2, and Mass Effect....

Rockstar Entertainment has confirmed the brand new Cayo Perico Heist coming to Grand Theft Auto Online on December 15th. Rockstar teased the new heist with a cryptic video message yesterday titled “El Rubio Dossier,” which revealed an island and an unidentified dead body washed to the shores of Los Santos from the island. Along with the cryptic video message, dead bodies with briefcases were actually washing to Los Santos shore in Grand Theft Auto Online each real hour of the day....

Galloping in on the back of Nintendo’s Monster Hunter Direct earlier in the week, pre-orders are now available for Capcom Japan’s exclusive Monster Hunter Rise merchandise. All of the available products will officially launch on March 26, 2021 (the same day as the game release), including an authentic leather pouch, and an adorable plush to accompany your game playing. Monster Hunter Rise was a fantastic and surprising reveal from Capcom and Nintendo that showcased the wonderful connection your character will have with some of the loyal, furry companions around you (whilst hunting the others, obviously)....

A new trailer for Pokémon Sword & Shield was recently uploaded to The Official Pokémon YouTube Channel and it reveals new details about the games, including unique Dynamax transformations for Galar region Pokémon (which is known as Gigantamaxing) and the return of version-exclusive Gym Leaders. Resident Evil 8 is one of Capcoms’ most anticipated titles coming to next gen in 2021. Since the initial reveal in June fans have been clamoring for new details and while a new trailer is rumored to be released next month, a few new details may have leaked about the game’s enemies, inventory management, and a mysterious new character, thanks to a report put together by Biohazard Declassified. A few months ago, some lucky fans got to participate in Capcom’s Ambassador program....

Frogwares announces a new Sherlock Holmes game and confirms that it will be released on PC, current-generation consoles and PS5, and Xbox Series X. The last game developed by Frogwares was the Lovecraftian adventure The Sinking City, which released in 2019. The next release in the Sherlock Holmes adventure series will be Sherlock Holmes: Chapter One, it has been announced. Set to be released in 2021 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X, it will be a prequel title that features a much younger version of the world-famous detective....

In a year with huge video game remakes like Capcom’s Resident Evil 3 and Square Enix’s Final Fantasy 7, another oddly high-profile title joining the cast is THQ Nordic’s SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom Rehydrated. Set to release next month, this remake of a cult classic PlayStation 2 action-adventure platformer from 2003 has garnered a lot of buzz for applying a much needed facelift to everything — including the boss fights, as seen in a trailer released Thursday....

In its quest to explain away every potential mystery, Disney will be teaming up with ILMxLAB to create a new Star Wars VR experience. Titled Tales From Galaxy’s Edge, this recently announced experience will not only tie into the physical park located in both Disneyland and Disney World but will explain the gap between The Last Jedi and Rise of Skywalker…You know, the best gap between films. Ubisoft releases new promotional material for Tom Clancy’s The Division, which appears to take press quotes out of context in order to bash Bungie’s Destiny. Despite there being a multitude of differences between Destiny and Tom Clancy’s The Division, it seems like people can’t help but to compare the two games. Now even Ubisoft is jumping on the bandwagon, as the company has released an advertisement for The Division that claims the game “blows Destiny out of the water....

Finding a next-generation console at launch is never easy. When the availability first arose, the pre-orders for the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S sold out almost immediately all over the world.
