One of the nice surprises at last year’s BlizzCon event was the announcement that Overwatch would be receiving a brand new map in the form of Blizzard World. Initially pegged for a vague release of early 2018, we now know the exact release date for the game’s latest map. As announced by the Overwatch Twitter page, Blizzard World will be releasing across all platforms on January 23. The map will feature a variety of areas themed after some of Blizzard’s biggest franchises, including Diablo, StarCraft, and World of Warcraft....

The one year anniversary of Overwatch is fast-approaching and there is mounting evidence of an event to celebrate the occasion. While many assume an event will take place – because it’s hard to believe Blizzard would miss the opportunity – dataminers have found more than that. A recent datamine of the Xbox Store has apparently unearthed some of what will be released for the Overwatch event, including a Game of the Year Edition of the title....

My Time at Sandrock, the sequel to the farming simulator My Time at Portia, comes out this spring for Early Access. It’s finally available to wishlist on Steam and for each milestone it reaches, developer Pathea Games will add additional features to the game. My Time at Portia released in 2019 to very positive reception. It’s heavily inspired by popular farming simulators such as the Harvest Moon series and especially Stardew Valley....

Neil Gaiman penned the comic Sandman back in the 80s, and die-hard fans were excited to hear the comic was moving to a television series. The announcement for the series was made in June of 2019 and production had already started on the project. However, like many highly anticipated series for the coming year, production has come to a halt due to COVID-19. Gaiman announced on his Tumblr that Sandman was like other Netflix productions, already underway for the series and sets were even being built....

It seems that the identity of Joker’s stage in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate may have been revealed, as a user on Twitter has claimed to have datamined the game and discovered that Mementos from Persona 5 will be coming to Ultimate when Joker is released. Masahiro Sakurai revealed during the final Direct for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate that five paid DLC characters would be coming to the game (not counting Piranha Plant, who was free to early adopters) and that each character would come with a new stage and a selection of songs....

Players have been hoping for a new Fable game for a long time. When Xbox announced the development of Fable at the Games Showcase many fans could not contain their excitement. In a short trailer, not much about the game was revealed and while many are pleased to see the sense of humor that featured in the original games still taking a prominent place, the actual gameplay is still a mystery....

Heart Machine’s Hyper Light Drifter made quite a splash among indie game fans when it came out back in 2016. Today, as part of the Summer Game Fest Kickoff Live stream, we got a good look at what Solar Ash is going to look like. And if this brief trailer is anything to go by, this might be an even more incredible experience than anything this developer has done before....

I will say right off the bat that I’ve got a weird relationship with Pokemon. When the first Pokemon games and anime were released in the US when I was around six years old, I was instantly obsessed. I saw every episode of the show and played through both Red and Blue, multiple times. From there, I began collecting the cards, and I even still have a set of the original 150 in a binder today....

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End has been a fan favorite of the series since its release 4 years ago, and it is full of Easter Eggs that relate back to Naughty Dog’s other games. For example, the game gives players a chance to play Naughty Dog’s critically acclaimed platformer, Crash Bandicoot, for a short section of the game. While this callback is fairly obvious, other references are hidden, but none more so than the newest Easter Egg that was just discovered, with only weeks before The Last of Us 2’s official release....

Microsoft has released a new system software update for the Xbox One. The update is currently available exclusively for those enrolled in the Microsoft Preview program, meaning others will have to bide their time until the company unveils the next general software update for the Xbox One. Update rs2_release_xbox_1705.170505-1900 mainly tackles bugs and issues reported by the Xbox One community, particularly the hiccups that caused players’ libraries to improperly display game titles and problems users experienced with installation management....

It’s no secret that many fans were disappointed by Mass Effect: Andromeda when it launched in March 2017. The development team at BioWare Montreal has since pledged that patches are inbound to fix some of the game’s most glaring errors, and now we’ve been given an update on the status of those efforts. Mike Gamble, a producer on Mass Effect: Andromeda, took to Twitter to give fans some information about the studio’s plans to fix the game....

Nier: Automata is absolutely wild. It is the single strangest game I have ever played, which is no surprise when you remember that this is the man who directed it. I digress - Square Enix recently announced that Automata has now shipped a whopping five million copies since it originally launched back in 2017. I’m no mathematician, but five million is quite a large number. That being said, it should be much, much larger in this instance, because Nier: Automata is an incredible game that all of you definitely need to play....

NieR Automata was one of the most popular RPGs in the past decade. It told the story of a war between androids 2B, 9S, and A2, against the machines. With its fun hack and slash gameplay, philosophical story, and beautiful soundtrack, fans consider this to be a masterpiece. Knowing that gamers want more, Square Enix have decided to bring back another game in the Drakengard franchise, NieR: Replicant. The NieR titles are spin-offs of the Drakengard trilogy, so newcomers have a lot to play....

E3 2021 is slowly wrapping up, but Nintendo is still here to pull out a few big surprises in the show’s final days. A couple of its classic staples, like Pokemon, may have been missing, and we didn’t see a Switch Pro announcement, but there’s no doubt that Ninty had a pretty stellar showing. For this year’s show, we saw a brand new Smash reveal with the addition of Tekken’s Kazuya to Ultimate’s roster, and a rather surprising announcement in the form of Metroid Dread....

We’re not sure if you’ve noticed, but console controllers can be incredibly expensive. Consoles tend to only come with one controller, so we casually ask the store assistant to throw in another, only to see the price shoot up by $60 or $70. While the Nintendo Switch bucks the trend and comes with two controllers as standard, let’s be honest: the Joy-Cons not the most user-friendly things in the world. If your hands are any bigger than a toddler’s then you will likely have issues holding the tiny things....
