As a direct response to feedback from players, Capcom has decided to increase the difficulty for the endgame content of the upcoming Monster Hunter: World Iceborne expansion. In a recent interview with Game Informer, executive director and art director for the game Kaname Fujioka spoke about the move. Even well-geared players who have put the time into finding and upgrading their gear from what is available in the base game will still see an increase in difficulty....

Michel Ziegler - the mind behind hand-drawn horror game Mundaun - has provided some insight into how this eerie, very unique-looking game came to be. Mundaun is gaining people’s attention in particular because of its really interesting visual design. The game is portrayed entirely in black and white, giving off a feel reminiscent of old photographs from the 19th and early 20th centuries. What a great style to model a horror game after - those old photos always convey a weird eerie bleakness, especially when they contain human subjects (who almost always look particularly glassy-eyed and miserable, for some reason)....

Cursed is the live-action television adaptation of an illustrated novel series by the same name. Video game developer KOG Games (Elsword, GrandChase) recently announced the addition of the brand new Awakening System to its free-to-play anime action battle game KurtzPel. The new system features the Awakening Gauge gameplay mechanic that lets you increase your character’s Karma level cap, and unlocks new normal and passive character skills. The new Awakening System went live on January 13 and can be unlocked via an Awakening Quest once your character reaches Lv....

Dungeons & Dragons recently released another supplement of its playtesting publication, Unearthed Arcana. This month’s Unearthed Arcana, Folk of the Feywild, takes a look at creatures of the wonderful and terrible world of the fey, and offers players four new races they can play as. Folk of the Feywild includes fairies, hobgoblins of the Feywild, owlfolk, and rabbitfolk for characters to choose from. Fairies gain a flying speed, some natural fairy magic, and the ability to squeeze through small spaces....

Since first beginning my monster-training career in 1998, I’ve never strayed from the Pokémon franchise. I’ve always admittedly held an appreciation for similar games like Digimon and even the more-recent Pokémon-like, Temtem - and my Resto Druid spends much of his time traversing Azeroth collecting pets in World of Warcraft - but Pokémon Red (and eventually its remake, Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu!) remain as my go-to titles for any sort of monster-collecting video game....

Nintendo is doing everything it can to make Metroid Prime 4 another hit, as it’s been reported that the company has invested over $500,000 into the expansion of Retro Studios headquarters. The developer will use the influx of cash to add 40,000 square feet to its office in Austin, Texas – a location its been working out of since 2011. Retro Studios is currently hiring for a dozen of different positions, and all that new space will be necessary as it continues to onboard employees and expand....

No Man’s Sky, that game everyone likes to bring up when talking about how disappointing Sea Of Thieves is, is back with a huge update. Titled No Man’s Sky: NEXT, it is set to be the biggest update the game has ever seen. To celebrate this update, the game will finally launch on Xbox One. And…the rest of the details have been left mysteriously unsaid. Sean Murray, of No Man’s Sky developer Hello Games, wrote a short post announcing the arrival of NEXT in summer 2018....

Outer Range has captured audiences’ imaginations with its engrossing twists and turns, outlandish science fiction elements, and genre-bending action. Set predominantly in Wyoming, the location itself very much plays an important part of the story, almost as if it is another character within the show. Without the Western motif of the beautiful plains, mountains, and prairie; the small town feel of the show would not be as successful. Outer Range follows a rancher, Royal Abbott (Josh Brolin), fighting for his land and keeping his family together....
