Predator has officially arrived in Fortnite, and a formidable character from another Arnie movie might be coming next. Fortnite has teamed up with a number of other franchises during its lifetime, some of them more bizarre than others. However, its collab with Predator might well be the most unexpected to date. The alien’s pod crash-landed on the island last week and today’s update saw it officially arrive on the map. When defeated by players, Predator drops its cloaking tech which some players believe is way overpowered....

They say that the grass is always greener on the other side, so it’s no surprise that gamers here on Earth are constantly attracted to alien environments, structures, and enemies. Both Destiny and Alien: Isolation will be keeping the trend alive in the coming years, sending players from the safety of Earth to the harshness of outer space, or the dangerous creatures residing in our very own solar system....

American toy giant Toys R Us has come under new ownership that intends to expand the long-struggling brand’s reach across North America. The children’s toy firm enjoyed a period of ubiquity until 2017, when the firm declared insolvency in America, rapidly followed by filing bankruptcy world-wide. The firm has since been a mostly online enterprise worldwide, but that seems set to change following Toys R Us’ acquisition by management company WHP Global....

Nintendo has announced that Super Mario 3D All-Stars is coming soon to the Nintendo Switch, but it will only be on sale for a limited time, which makes no sense. The announcement puts months of rumors to rest by bundling some of the best games in the series, featuring updated versions of Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine, and Super Mario Galaxy in one package. As of September 18, you have the option of purchasing the bundle in one of two ways, either digitally through the Nintendo eShop or by snagging a physical version that will release in limited quantities....

The reason for all the remakes is simple: there’s high demand from nostalgic fans, so releasing updated versions is an easy cash grab....

In 2013, BioShock Infinite was released to critical and commercial acclaim, something that didn’t seem like a foregone conclusion after a troubled development period spanning five years. Given Infinite’s success, it seemed like the next logical step for BioShock creator Ken Levine and his studio, Irrational Games, would be to continue the franchise....

So far, after Shenmue 3’s surprise announcement during Sony’s E3 2015 demonstration, news for the long-awaited third installment in Yu Suzuki’s groundbreaking series has generally remained positive. For instance, just a few days ago, Yu-san assuaged fans’ concerns of the potential for misallocated funds, by saying that Sony will not receive any Kickstarter money for the title’s development. In fact, press for the renown game designer’s upcoming release has been so favorable that it has inspired legions of fans to pledge their hard-earned cash in support of the project, which in turn has led Suzuki’s studio Ys Net to add several new stretch goals to the enterprise....

It’s been a rough week for both fans of Ubisoft’s 2003 fan favorite first person shooter XIII as well as PlayMagic, the studio who worked on the recently released remake. While fans were looking forward to a remake of the classic shooter, the end result was a poorly received technical mess marred by bugs, an art style that removes the game’s original personality, performance issues, and strange AI behavior. Needless to say, the XIII remake isn’t the game many were hoping for, though even with all the negativity surrounding the experience, fans found a creative way to take out their frustrations....

Plenty of details surrounding the upcoming demo for Outriders have been revealed. Not only will players get try out a vast amount of what the game has to offer, but they’ll be able to transfer everything they’ve done to the full version when it releases in a few months. Square Enix and People Can Fly’s highly anticipated looter-shooter has been in development since 2015. Originally scheduled for a December 2020 launch, Outriders delayed its release date to February 2021, before ultimately settling on April 1 due to impacts caused by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic....

Over the Moon, an animated feature heads to Netflix in October, showcasing an aesthetically impressive, awe-inspiring tale of wonder and randomly-erupting musical sequences that’s out to prove that Disney+ isn’t the only place on which its genre flourishes. The film focuses on the exploits of a young Asian-American girl, who—having been entranced by a myth about a goddess who accidentally floated away from her true love to be exiled on the moon—embarks on a cosmic endeavor of building a rocket for a lunar visit of her own....

In a new update on the Blizzard Forums, Overwatch principal designer Geoff Goodman reveals a number of upcoming balance changes for Roadhog and Winston. Blizzard have recently released the latest Overwatch build onto the PTR for testing, which saw major changes be made to Bastion and Mercy. Despite consistently releasing improvements and patches ever since the online shooter was released last May, it appears the studio is not resting on its laurels just yet as the team are already working on a series of new character balance changes....

Overwatch director Jeff Kaplan states that Blizzard objects to the use of mouse and keyboard on consoles and have contacted first-party console manufacturers to ban these devices. Prior to the release of Overwatch, Blizzard had promised fans that it will take drastic action against cheaters by banning them from the game. While Blizzard has held true to its promise by indeed banning cheaters and hackers - including over 20,000 South Korean players just last week - one aspect that the studio is unable to influence despite its objections is console players using mouse and keyboard devices in order to gain an advantage over everyone else....

Path of Exile’s Heist league has introduced an entirely new ecosystem to the game’s progression and endgame systems. Nine NPCs, hundreds of new items, Replica Uniques, and Heists themselves have added a breadth of content to Path of Exile that hasn’t been seen in recent leagues. That said, this is easily one of the most confusing leagues for newer and even experienced players to dive into. Gearing Rogues and understanding Grand Heists can be confusing to learn....
