Despite the contemporary approach, the reboot has delivered potent nostalgia thus far, and fans of the original 1999 anime series are pleasantly surprised....

Over the past week, Sony has been celebrating the one year anniversary of God of War. Plenty of insight into how the game was developed at Sony Santa Monica has been revealed in the past few days, including the announcement of a documentary showcasing the five-year effort to bring God of War from an idea to an actual product. Speaking of its development, Cory Barlog, God of War’s director, shared an interesting tidbit about one of the title’s more iconic moments, and how it was almost cut from the game....

With a massive breach in security, information for over one million users from a famous Russia inspired MMO game Stalker Online have been compromised and put on auction. Stalker Online is a popular open-world MMO game that is based on the book “Roadside Picnic,” written by Arkady and Boris Strutgatsky. The game was developed by a studio in Australia called BigWorld Technology. Recently, the game fell victim to an online hacker who was able to get varying information from over a million users....

In total, I’ve probably played less than ten hours in Overwatch. That’s a pretty pathetic return for an online shooter that’s been out for five years. In fact, ‘an online shooter’ barely does Overwatch justice. For a while, it was the biggest hero shooter in the world, and despite increasing competition, it arguably still is. I know people who have hundreds, if not thousands of hours in Overwatch, and I’m still in single figures....

Overwatch undoubtedly has a lot going for it with fun characters, decent balance, a variety of game modes, and an engaged community. However, Overwatch has its share of bad qualities, and part of that is toxic players who can quickly turn a fun game into a headache by abusing chat, not contributing, going AFK, or even abandoning competitive matches altogether. Blizzard has set out to improve its penalty system, and Game Director Jeff Kaplan has also mentioned that the system knows when someone abandons an Overwatch match using the Leave Game button....

As large game companies struggle to implement new models like free-to-play, many independent developers are taking the plunge into new and revolutionary payment systems. Thanks to services like Steam Greenlight and itch.io, indie devs can release their games to wider audiences. But traditional payment models may not be enough for some indie games. Being independent allows developers to experiment not only with story and gameplay, but payment too. New models like “Pay By Art,” “Pay What You Want,” and other unique approaches can help developers from a marketing perspective, encouraging more people to check out a game they might otherwise never hear about....

Monster Hunter World will be hosting its second seasonal event soon, Capcom announced earlier today. The Autumn Harvest Fest will commence starting September 21 and will be available to all players on both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of the game. The event will feature a new set of quests for players to embark on, together with a multitude of Halloween-themed items and equipment for players to collect....

Mortal Kombat 11 just received its big Aftermath expansion, which adds three new DLC characters to the game along with a variety of features and some new story content. While it seems as though Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath could very well be the popular fighting game’s swan song as NetherRealm focuses on its next games, there is some evidence to suggest that it will be getting at least one more DLC character at some point down the line....

The week-long Steam Game Festival began on Wednesday, giving gamers the chance to try out over 500 demos from upcoming PC games. Featuring titles from a wide variety of genres, the Steam event gives developers of all sizes an opportunity to showcase their hard work to an audience of millions. The demos will no longer be available after 10 am PST on Tuesday, February 9, so players only have a limited time to check them out....

The streamer announced today that it has secured the rights to Liu Cixin’s international bestselling sci-fi books The Three-Body Problem (also known as the Remembrance of Earth’s Past trilogy) and will adapt them into an English-language TV series. The big project has some appropriately big names attached to shepherd it. Game of Thrones showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss will both write and executive produce the series, marking their first effort since inking an overall deal with Netflix last year....

Netflix creates an endless runner, allowing fans of the streaming site to suit up as some of their favorite characters from Stranger Things, Orange is the New Black, and more. At this point in time, it would be a bit of a struggle to try to find someone not familiar with Netflix. The now notorious streaming company has a number of beloved and original television shows and films featured on the platform, and it continuously grows with each passing month....

A new season of Apex Legends means a lot of things for its playerbase. A new playable character (in this instance Fuse), a new weapon, a new Battle Pass, map changes, and, unfortunately, at least one new glitch or bug. And this one is particularly aggravating, as it’s trapping players in an infinite loading screen. The problem has been reported on the EA Help forums and, to be more specific, the bug occurs on the intro screen....

Star Wars is one of the biggest multi-media franchises in the world and as a result, fans are usually eager to see what new projects emerge from the canon of the series. Last year, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order was released to positive sales and it showcased a want for Star Wars games with a campaign focus rather than an online model. However, this was not the first attempt at this type of game within Electronic Arts and producer Zach Mumbach has explained how another game was almost delivered a few years ago....

Although it was a long time coming, the overall reception for Final Fantasy 15 from fans of the series was extremely positive, with lots of love for the title alongside a glowing critical reception and commercial triumphs that saw the game earn back its costs on launch day. Unfortunately, not everything tied to the game has been quite as exceptional, as shown by the recent reaction to mobile spin-off Final Fantasy 15: A New Empire....

Counterplay Games had a brief moment to show off Godfall during the Gamescom opening night live stream, revealing a new Valorplate and showing off some of the fast-paced gameplay fans can expect to see when the game releases.
