Square Enix officially revealed Outriders back in 2019 during the E3 event. And after almost two years today, Outriders has been released worldwide available PS4, PS 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and S, Google Stadia, and PC. The launch timings are a bit different depending on which platform you’re on. On consoles, Outriders launch at midnight, April 1st, and for PC and Stadia users, the game will launch at 9 AM Pacific, as this is the default release time for Square Enix on these platforms....

Get ready, heroes, Overwatch is getting an all-new map, Junkertown, which happens to be the home of the game’s resident lunatic and explosives aficionado, Junkrat. The newest Overwatch Escort map was announced today with a trailer that gives a tour of the ramshackle town. The trailer is narrated by the Queen of the Junkers, a gang of scavengers who roam what remains of the Australian Outback and live in Junkertown....

Overwatch 2 is placing an equal importance on PvE and PvP gameplay, offering complex upgrade trees and a full story campaign for fans to play alongside the hero shooter’s popular multiplayer. It seems like the side missions in Overwatch 2 will be prevalent as well, as Blizzard has confirmed that it plans to deliver hundreds upon release. In Overwatch 2’s PvE mode, there are hero mission and story missions. Story missions, as implied by the name, take players through a linear campaign....

Blizzard has released the latest Overwatch animated short, titled “Rise and Shine” and starring everyone’s favorite Overwatch climatologist Mei. Blizzard debuted the video live in front of a gamescom audience, part of the company’s Blizzard Reveal Ceremony featuring announcements from Hearthstone, Heroes of the Storm, World of Warcraft, and of course Overwatch. Rise and Shine was the only Overwatch-related reveal of the event, but was the highlight nevertheless. In Rise and Shine, Overwatch players get a look at what could be considered Mei’s origin story....

Blizzard releases a new patch for the PC version of Overwatch that fixes some bugs plaguing the game, and also makes important changes to ranked Competitive Play. Blizzard waited a month after launching Overwatch to implement ranked Competitive Play in an effort to make sure the mode worked properly on release. While Competitive Play has mostly went off without a hitch, there have been some issues, and now Blizzard has taken steps to address these problems in a patch that has so far only released for the PC version of the game....

It’s hard to argue that Valheim isn’t one of 2021’s biggest surprise hits so far, with the indie viking survival game having sold over 5 million copies in the few weeks it’s been out on Steam Early Access. That’s an impressive feat for a game that seemingly came out of nowhere, and naturally a lot of people are now eager to see it come to other platforms like the Nintendo Switch, including the port specialists at Panic Button....

Mortal Shell, the Souls-like action-RPG from Cold Symmetry, launched this week to a warm critical reception. In the game, players are called on by the mysterious “Dark Father,” and told to journey across a tattered landscape. The Shells in Mortal Shell are the remains of defeated warriors that the main character can inhabit, and fill the role of classes. Each Shell has different strengths, and players can choose to focus on these to improve their connection to the remains....

The most high-profile game releases of April 2020 were no doubt Final Fantasy 7 Remake and Resident Evil 3, but there are some notable smaller games releasing as well. This includes Moving Out, a multiplayer indie game that has been favorably compared to Overcooked and has earned decent reviews from critics so far. At the time of this writing, Moving Out is sitting comfortably at a 77 rating on the review aggregate site OpenCritic....

Mulan will premiere on Disney+ and in some international theaters on Sept. 4, according to Deadline. The news was broken by Disney CEO Bob Chapek during the company’s earnings call on Tuesday (Aug. 4). But the announcement comes with a caveat: viewers who wish to view director Niki Caro’s live-action remake of the animated 1998 historical adventure on Disney’s streaming service will pay a premium of $29.99, on top of their monthly or yearly subscription fee....

Bandai Namco Entertainment reveals yet more My Hero Academia news, this time in the form of a mobile game. In 2021, fans will be able to download and play My Hero Academia: Ultra Impact, featuring three versus three combat and mobile game versions of scenes from the anime and manga. There isn’t a ton of information about this yet, especially since the announcement was made in Japanese, but a closed beta will launch soon for players in Japan....

Kyle Larson, a professional NASCAR driver, has been fired after using a racial slur during a live streamed esports iRacing eSports race. It seems he didn’t realize he was speaking to the entire chat, or forgot that his mic was on, when he dropped the N-word in reference to the other drivers. NASCAR’s response to the cancellation of all of its scheduled races is to hold an eSports tournament using the iRacing simulator with all contestants being professional NASCAR drivers....

After skipping 2016, EA Sports returns to the court later this year with NBA Live 18. The next installment in the venerable basketball franchise revolves around a single-player mode dubbed The One, which players can try out via a demo that’s out today. Last week, Game Rant visited the studio for a preview of what’s in store. While the likes of FIFA and Madden have gravitated toward story modes that focus on a character created for the player, NBA Live 18 is all about the avatar players create for themselves....
