Earlier today, Electronic Arts announced a new feature for their Origin digital distribution store that could sway gamers towards their service. There are quite a few stipulations to the feature, but, in essence, gamers will be able to return their digital games and receive a full refund starting today. The major caveat to this refund policy, called the “Great Game Guarantee” is that the PC game must be returned within 24 hours of launching the game for the first time, or 7 days after you purchase it....

Video game designer and Gears of War creator Cliff Bleszinski explains that the original version of the wildly popular shooter almost didn’t have multiplayer. According to a recent interview with IGN, Gears of War creator Cliff Bleszinski explained that during the development of the first title in the third-person shooter franchise, its seminal multiplayer content was close to being eliminated from the final cut of the game altogether. Although it’s hard to imagine multiplayer not being included, the way Bleszinski describes it, Gears of War was being closely scrutinized by Microsoft due to its being a major holiday release for the Xbox 360, which almost resulted in it getting the axe....

The Overwatch League recently streamed a special Watchpoint update on YouTube about the changes to the season moving forward amidst the CoronaVirus outbreak. The biggest change is the league transitioning to online play for the time being, but other big news was announced including the cancellation of the Midseason Tournament and moving All-Star Weekend to the end of the season. With the implementation of the homestand format for the entirety of the 2020 season, the Overwatch League decided to forgo the typical four-stage format and instead play a larger midseason tournament to coincide with the All-Star weekend in the middle of the season....

An Overwatch map on the moon has been teased in an update to the preexisting Lijiang Tower map. The map is just one of several content teasers dropped by Blizzard this week, as game director Jeff Kaplan also hinted at the arrival of a new hero. Overwatch control map Lijiang Tower offers three stages – Garden, Night Market and Control Center – and it seems that the Garden section of the map has been changed slightly following the Anniversary Event update....

Just a few days ago, we were introduced to Paramo, PUBG’s first “dynamic map” that would somehow change either during or after each game. The teaser trailer made it clear that those changes would be significant, where one iteration of Paramo looks like a volcano-blasted landscape whereas another version would look like a tropical paradise at the foot of an active volcano. Terrain, villages, and major landmarks all changed in the trailer, but PUBG Corp never let it drop just how those changes would work....

My favourite Mario game is Mario Party 8. People sometimes give me funny looks when I say that, but I promise you it’s true, and it’s not from lack of experience either. I’ve played Super Mario Odyssey, Bros., World, and both Galaxys, as well as Mario 64. No Sunshine, but I reckon that’s not enough to disqualify me.
