With eleven main entries in the series and likely more to come in the future, Mortal Kombat remains one of the most successful fighting game franchises of all time with epic storytelling, fun and brutal gameplay, and an ever-expanding roster of revolving characters. There are the iconic ones like Sub-Zero, Scorpion, Liu Kang, and Sonya Blade who are often the flagship characters, but what about the forgotten and underplayed characters? There are some characters who, despite having some killer movesets, special abilities, and overall fun gameplay, just end up being forgotten and overshadowed by other characters in the many rosters....

Pennywise the Dancing Clown, the most famous form of the cosmic monster known simply as “It,” has not had a major presence in video games. Since Stephen King’s It novel is one of the most popular horror novels of all time, spawning a cult classic mini-series and record-breaking blockbuster movie, it’s a bit odd that we haven’t seen a proper video game starring the character (or virtually any video games based on King’s work in general, for that matter)....

For gamers looking to find an entry into the folk horror genre of video games, look no further than Mundaun. Hidden Fields’ indie is a hand-penciled creation that adds to the eerie atmosphere exhibited in the game’s trailer. Published by MWM Interactive, Mundaun is an inviting horror tale that is not for the faint-hearted. The trailer features a rather claustrophobic setting with strong vignettes around penciled illustrations. We see flashes of disturbing elements, including long tunnels, moving photographs and black rams....

Neil Gaiman, bestselling author and creator of American Gods, has recently penned a letter announcing the season 3 release date of the American Gods TV show. Within that letter Gaiman not only announces the premiere for season 3, but discusses the timely nature of the show, and the thought process behind bringing audiences Shadow’s story. It would seem that Shadow is finally making his way to Lakeside, an important location in the original novel, and one that suggests some important parts of the book are making their way to the show....

A recent job listing posted by NetherRealm Studios hints at the potential for next generation iterations of its popular Mortal Kombat and Injustice series. This doesn’t come as a shock to most as it was presumed that these titles would be continuing on with the start of the new generation, but serves as a sort of confirmation of that assumption. The information comes from a job listing for a Software Engineer and reveals some other interesting information about the future of those franchises....

A new trailer for High Moon Studios’ forthcoming Deadpool game has arrived, and unlike the announcement trailer it’s filled with plenty of exciting gameplay. It’s also narrated by the “merc with the mouth” himself, who in the game is voiced by Nolan North. We’ve seen plenty of superhero games released over the past decade — many of them complete failures — but it’s fairly safe to say Deadpool will be something unique....

Well before Bungie unleashed Destiny onto the world they promised that this would be an experience that will continue to grow post-launch. Recently, new information came to light regarding Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot’s first DLC, which is now said to release this spring, and it is somewhat surprising. While leaks beforehand led many to believe that it would adapt the Gods of the Universe Z saga, it seems that the new DLC is a boiled down version that blurs the line with it and the God of Destruction Super saga. The publisher has now released some new Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot screenshots that seemingly indicate that this information is, more or less, accurate....

Gears Tactics, a spin-off of the Gears of War franchise in a turn-based style like X-Com or Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle, will be available on Xbox Game Pass, Steam, and Windows 10 starting April 28. In preparation for that, developers The Coalition and Splash Damage released a launch trailer announcing that pre-installation is available now. Most of the trailer is story-driven, describing a plot set 12 years before the original Gears of War in which Sergeant Diaz has to lead a team of recruitable survivors to hunt down a Locust leader known as Ukkon....

A brand new Halloween Event in Hunt: Showdown is now live for PC. Console players, however, will have to wait a bit longer to enjoy the update, as Crytek has revealed that it is being postponed. Hunt: Showdown’s Halloween Event comes with exclusive content, in-game event points, and changes to the map. This timed event is unlike anything Crytek has done with the game before, so it is exciting for fans to jump into the game, smash pumpkins, and earn legendary gear....

It’s been several months since Electronic Arts and DICE gave players their first look at Star Wars Battlefront in action. The gameplay debut was a long time coming, but now that people have seen it, anticipation is building for the multiplayer-focused shooter. Even with that anticipation, however, DICE has yet to give us the full picture for Star Wars Battlefront. We know that the game will have several multiplayer modes, a handful of planets (with several maps carved from those planets), and that combat will feature both ground-based and aerial options....

Recently, Creative Assembly broke away from the Total War mold to take the strategy franchise into the fantasy realm of Warhammer through Total War: Warhammer. About a couple of weeks ago, Hello Games founder Sean Murray announced that No Man’s Sky’s Beyond update would add a “radical” new social and multiplayer experience named No Man’s Sky Online, and that the update would release later this summer. Between trailers, Valorplate reveals, and hands-on previews, fans already have a good idea of how Godfall is going to play, even if the specific feel from PS5’s haptic feedback remains to be experienced by the general public.
