Over the last week there has been significant discussion surrounding Respawn Entertainment’s forthcoming multiplayer shooter Titanfall. And while the conversation up to that point had been positive, things have taken a considerable turn in the opposite direction. Specifically, hopeful gamers have been disappointed by the news that Titanfall will only support 6v6 multiplayer matches. Respawn has gone on to explain their decision to cap the player limit at 6, but many have found even that explanation unsatisfactory....

Mortal Kombat 11 puts its violence right out front, with its obviously gruesome fatalities and vicious brutalities taking center stage. That said, NetherRealm Studios’ newest fighting game is also packed to the gills with references and Easter eggs hidden just beneath the surface. These secrets pull from a variety of different source types, but some of the most fun ones come straight from the silver screen. Indeed, there are a myriad of movie references in Mortal Kombat 11, and this is by no means intended to be a comprehensive list of them....

Not long ago, Mortal Kombat 11 fans discovered a secret Cassie Cage brutality ending, which shows the MK11 character exploding her opponent’s head by way of a a pointblank gunshot. While this discovery has already added an additional tool to Cassie Cage players’ arsenal of finishers, an entirely new Cassie Cage brutality has recently been introduced in the game, and some might describe it as “disarming.” The new Mortal Kombat 11 Cassie Cage brutality is called “Fully Disarmed,” and it can be unlocked by playing in season two of the MK11 Kombat League, which began just days ago....

Fans waiting for an update from NetherRealm Studios on Mortal Kombat 11 were pleased this month when the studio announced Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate with a November 2020 release date. The Ultimate edition of the game will include all of the DLC released for the famous fighting game so far. As with previous editions of Mortal Kombat 11, the new version will also include cross-platform gameplay, allowing players to battle across available consoles....

The adorable simulation game, My Time at Portia, is getting a sequel in the form of My Time at Sandrock. The developer is currently holding a Kickstarter for the project, with an anticipated early access release of March 2021 and a full release to follow in spring 2022. Pathea Games wants to bring My Time at Sandrock to as many platforms as possible. PC players will see the title first, in the form of a Steam Early Access game in 2021....

Time to start the PS4 rumors again, reports are coming in that Naughty Dog is looking for a character artist to make next gen games with “1,000,000 polygon character models”. According to a job listing on Naughty Dog’s website, the character artist will “be responsible for making million poly models game ready, and support highest-res characters for renderings.” The job listing also makes mention of next gen games, leading to the speculation that Naughty Dog is working on a title for the oft-rumored PS4....

NBA 2K20 is the latest video game title to pay homage to the late George Floyd. Amid many protests around the United States, NBA 2K20 has added a collection of clothes to bring attention to the memory of George Floyd as well as current issues. The collection of clothes includes a shirt with “Black Lives Matter” text in the front with variations that can include “I Can’t Breathe” and “Say Their Names....

Borderlands was a surprise commercial hit and critical darling when it released in the fall of 2009. The cell-shaded animation, diverse weaponry, bizarre enemies, and tongue-in-cheek humor resulted in tremendous word of mouth buzz that left some retailers short on copies. That said, while the title offered a lot of content for its retail price tag (not to mention worthy DLC additions), there’s no doubt that, after 40 hours of looting, killing, and flipping cars, the underlying gameplay was pretty repetitive....

Launching last year, EA and DICE’s World War 1 shooter Battlefield 1 has proven to be incredibly popular. Battlefield 1 has 21 million players across the globe, with players enjoying its multiplayer and the insight it offers into the monstrosities of the Great War. Crimson Desert just released two different commentary trailers – but neither one makes any mention of multiplayer. Instead, the team focuses on highlighting the design process behind the new single-player direction, leaving fans wondering what sort of game this will really be. Originally billed as an MMO, Pearl Abyss has since changed its focus, now calling it an open world action adventure game. The recently released commentary reinforces this idea, as the developers revealed various design choices of Crimson Desert that lend themselves to a single-player world – and don’t quite mesh with your typical MMO....

One of the most surprising additions to Nintendo Direct was this hilarious trailer from Undertale developer Toby Fox. He enlisted the help of lots of dogs in order to show us a censored, spoiler-free trailer for his latest game Deltarune, which is coming to the Switch this month. “To die, to truly be dead,” Bela Lugosi said in Hollywood’s classic adaptation of Bram Stoker’s novel Dracula, “that must be glorious.” But beloved monsters never die, no matter how many stakes you drive through their hearts. They are rebooted. Following the box office and critical success of The Invisible Man, Jason Blum’s Blumhouse production banner is looking to resurrect Dracula, according to The Hollywood Reporter. While Universal hasn’t officially signed on, they do have a first-look deal with Blumhouse and a cloakroom of capes for the Transylvanian Count....

The new G4TV is prime to pick up where the old one left off, and it’s perfect content for today’s gaming scene. That’s what Brian Terwilliger, G4’s VP of Programming & Creative Strategy, believes. While the network’s 2021 revival is advertising the return of old favorites like Attack of the Show!, it will also bring new shows based on D&D, WWE, and other facets of geek culture that weren’t explored during the original run....

With any great success inevitably comes imitation. Nintendo’s flagship Pokemon franchise is about as successful as they come, topping the list of highest grossing media franchises in August 2019, and in its wake have come a number of inspired projects. One high profile example is VEWO INTERACTIVE’s Nexomon: Extinction, which had its bevy of starters revealed by publisher PQube Games today. The nine starter Nexomon revealed by PQube Games, and their elemental typings, are: Noki (water), Gekoko (electric), Behilda (ghost), Lume (fire), Masquiti (psychic), Mearn (wind), Trebly (mineral), Mara (plant), and Dinja (normal)....

Before Electronic Arts unveiled Battlefield 4, they showed it to retail partners, and GameStop earned the game some buzz by praising the secret behind-closed-doors footage. The timing of the showcase led many to believe EA would unveil their first next-gen shooter at Sony’s PlayStation 4 event in February but it never came to be. They instead unveiled it themselves at GDC in March while reports indicated that EA may have struck up a partnership agreement with Microsoft, hinting at a Battlefield 4 reveal as part of their own next-gen console showcase....

With the next generation of consoles coming out in full swing, there are thousands of hungry fans trying to get their hands on either the PlayStation 5 or an Xbox Series x. Stock has been quite limited due to the coronavirus pandemic, but thankfully there are still retailers who are announcing stock updates for both the PS5 and Xbox Series X. Walmart has had fairly explicit dates set for their product launches, even going as far as to announce specific times for when fans could purchase a new console and some of the cool new launch titles....

Ninjala fans can now take a closer look at upcoming updates in the recently uploaded Developer Diary #8. The brief video shares details regarding new Gum Weapons, the upcoming second season, and most notably, the game’s first official collaboration/crossover. Although the video covers many details pertaining to Season 2, which begins on August 26th, it ends with the exciting announcement of a Season 2 in-game crossover. Sonic the Hedgehog will be featured as the first official in-game Ninjala collaboration....

Developed by Team Ninja, the first Nioh was released in 2017 after being in development for 14 years. What began as a project based on the unfinished works of Seven Samurai director Akira Kurosawa became a game based on the real-life English Samurai William Adams. Heavily influenced by the likes of Dark Souls and Ninja Gaiden, the resulting game was a big hit among fans of the genre and is arguably the best Souls-like game not developed by FromSoftware....
