As announced by the NBA 2K League, a multiyear partnership with Sony Interactive Entertainment will see the PlayStation 5 becoming the official console for the league. This means that beginning this month, the 23 NBA 2K League teams and 138 players will all compete via Sony’s PlayStation 5. “NBA 2K League players are the best in the world at what they do, so it’s only fitting that they compete on the best gaming equipment in the world,” said Brendan Donohue, NBA 2K League President....

The Bungie Help Twitter account reveals that a new patch is set to launch for Destiny starting around 10am PST, which may correct the recent heavy ammo glitch. Thanks to the April Update, Destiny has seen a renewed surge of activity in response to the new weekly Sterling Treasure drops, an updated Prison of Elders, and a number of important changes to how the game functions as a whole. While the experience has been fairly smooth since the large update arrived last month, players have recently run into a major glitch which also caused the popular Iron Banner and Trials of Osiris events to be cancelled until a fix could be released....

In what seems to be a joke, a new ransomware has been discovered that will lock a user’s files until they play PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, or, even more simply, just enter a code into a field. When the user launches the ransomware, it encrypts every file and folder exclusively on the desktop and changes the file formats to “.PUBG.” When it has finished encrypting the files, a screen will display two methods of decryption that the user can choose, depending on their sense of humor....

It’s been almost a month since the creators behind the Red Dead Redemption modification for Grand Theft Auto 5 exploded into the spotlight, but the team behind the unofficial mod has used this time wisely. The group has been importing assets from the Xbox 360 edition of Red Dead Redemption, and - with the town of Armadillo as a fine example - has been moderately successful in doing so. Obsidian Entertainment appears to have stealth dropped a new update for The Outer Worlds today that bumps the game’s frame rate up to 60 FPS when played on Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5. As new Overwatch map Oasis is released on the game’s Public Test Region, players of the multiplayer shooter discover that the cars on the map’s highways are able to kill them.
