IGN has revealed that developers Ludosity and Fair Play Labs have secretly been working on Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl: a Super Smash Bros.-style fighting game starring some of Nickelodeon’s best characters. This is obviously big news for Nickelodeon fans everywhere, as well as those who have been craving a Smash Bros.-like experience and don’t own a Switch, so it’s hardly a surprise that this reveal quickly inspired many of those fans to start a surprisingly heated debate over who the most powerful Nickelodeon character is and who will emerge from this upcoming brawl as the undisputed champion....

Nielsen has released their list of the most anticipated games for 2012 for all three major platforms. Though there’s nothing particularly shocking about the titles that top each of the lists, it does put into perspective what the average gamer might be looking forward to playing, and on which platforms they prefer to game on. The clear, non-exclusive favorite is of course Assassin’s Creed 3 which, after being revealed earlier this year, skyrocketed to the top of everyone’s most anticipated list....

In a weird way, Tetris 99 has become something of a marketing vessel for Nintendo. On random weekends during a month, the company will host an event dedicated to a new or upcoming release and players can earn a theme based on that. This has been happening since a few months after launch, with titles like Fire Emblem: Three Houses, Splatoon 2, and Paper Mario getting special treatment. Sadly, those events only last for a few days, so many may have missed their chance to grab the themes....

Anthem showed up as a crowd-pleasing surprise from BioWare during E3 2017, featuring scaled-down Titanfall-esque mechs and a sci-fi fantasy world akin to Destiny. While Anthem’s debut at E3 was spectacular, there will be no showing at Gamescom 2017 this August, as EA is opting to focus on games coming out this year instead. The footage and trailer shown off for BioWare’s Anthem during E3 displayed a squad-based game that had players jumping into high-tech exo-suits like Ironman’s and venturing out into a world overrun by nature and alien creatures of all shapes, sizes, and temperaments....

Not to be confused with endgame Expeditions, Outriders’ Expedition quest is all about prepping for a journey through the forests of Enoch. This quest has two parts: crossing a swamp and finding lithium batteries. This quest fleshes out the Beast faction type quite nicely with three new enemies, one of which is a royal pain to fight against. If you aren’t a fan of swamp levels, upgrade your gear before proceeding....

Relics might be the hardest main quests in Outriders, not because of enemy encounters, but because of the final boss. After a few straightforward encounters with Kang’s Fighters, you’ll be faced against an enemy that can easily one or two-shot your character. Before you venture into the ruins, upgrade your gear! You can’t leave once the boss fight begins. Bring a mid-range weapon that either has passive damage over time (such as the Death Chains mod) or healing properties....

Blizzard once again takes the fight to Overwatch cheaters by tying copies of the online game to their geographical region, as well as suing hack developers. Well and truly sick of Overwatch hackers, Blizzard will later this week open yet another front in their offensive against the cheaters that are ruining online play in one of its biggest hits to date. Besides combating the hacks directly, the company will now be going after the developers of such cheats as well....

New Overwatch map, Junkertown, has been in testing on the game’s PTR (Public Test Region) for the past few weeks. Players on PC have been battling within the rough, rundown location, enjoying the chance to learn more about Junkrat and Roadhog’s origins. But it will soon be time for everyone to enjoy the new map. In a new preview video, the Overwatch team confirmed that the Junkertown release date is September 19, 2017....

The schedule for week nine of the Overwatch League is here and with it comes the announcement the league will be keeping their online format for the remainder of the 2020 season. What was supposed to be the season the league showed the potential of its location-based home and away format has changed drastically. There is nothing that could have been done, but it’s nice to see the league will continue despite a massive change in plans to kick off the season....

The professional Overwatch team Selfless is down one player, as Tracer and Soldier: 76 main Dafran has been indefinitely suspended from the team due to his actions on Twitch, such as trying to convince his fans to throw Competitive Play games. Not only has Dafran been suspended from his team, but he has also been banned from playing the game’s fifth season of Competitive Play, and has been suspended from playing Overwatch at all for one week....

After a rocky closed beta and a subsequent shutdown in 2019, Payday: Crime War is looking to make a return. The mobile spin-off recently entered a new licensing deal with PopReach – a publisher focused on free-to-play mobile games. Payday: Crime War is expected to soft launch by the end of the year, with a global release in 2022. As part of the deal, Starbreeze has sold over the complete Payday: Crime War source code in exchange for $250 thousand....

Mutant Year Zero is receiving a new DLC expansion titled “Seed of Evil” to coincide with the launch of the game on the Nintendo Switch on July 30. Hot on the heels of the initial “Road to Eden” story line, characters Bormin, Dux, and Farrow are being joined by another anthropomorphic ally named Big Khan, a moose who delights in using massive flames to destroy his enemies.
