Overwatch’s resident genius-geneticist and wicked healer is Hero 26, Dr. Moira O’Deorain. A scientist in genetic engineering, Moira is known for her slippery playstyle and her ability to harm just as much as she heals. Her backstory crisscrosses both Talon and Overwatch territories, (with a side of Blackwatch), and links her lore to multiple other playable  Overwatch characters. You can thank Moira for not only Reaper’s abilities but also Doomfist’s — making her as important behind the scenes as she is in the spotlight.

A character that’s easy to get wrong, Moira can be a fun pick to play if you want to dabble in the occasional DPS with your Support; and as this list shows, she is also a character with some really killer looks.

13 Pale

You may wonder why Pale is included in this list of amazing skins when, at first glance, it appears to be just a plain, white skin, —nothing to shout about. A closer look at the rest of the contents on this list may change your mind, as this Epic level skin is the antithesis of the vast majority of Moira’s skins, which use some of the boldest colors in Blizzard’s toolkit, and as such can often be an alternate choice if you want something subdued.

Pale isn’t actually that bland, as it features some great accenting in gradients of teal and purple, and Moira’s base design isn’t all that plain to begin with. But, if you’re looking for something a little more easy-on-the-eyes, want to fly under the radar, or you simply want to go for a monochromatic look, Pale is a nice, cheap Epic that fits the bill. It costs 250 gold to unlock.

12 Scientist

If you’re looking for something modest, go no further than Moira’s Scientist skin. This classic, lore-heavy skin shows Moira in her natural habit — that of the genetics lab. Moira is dressed in a subtle lab coat over what looks like a dark grey three-piece suit, with her backpack and weapons having a much more medical/laboratory feel to them.

Scientist is a Legendary level skin that is available during the Anniversary season. As it’s seasonal, you will need to wait till the season is on to unlock the skin, and it will cost you 1,000 gold to do so.

11 Eireannach

With a color palette drawn from her home country, Ireland, Eireannach is one of Moira’s brighter (and more patriotic) skins, made for her appearance in the Overwatch Summer Games season. As such, this Epic skin is locked to the Summer season and will cost you 750 gold to unlock — once the season rolls around.

Eireannach translates roughly into ‘an Irish person’ in English, so there’s little wonder about exactly what this skin is trying to say. But, what it loses in mysteriousness it makes up for in sheer visual impact — as Moira’s signature colors of green, orange, and purple feature in a marvelous clash for the eyes.

10 Blackwatch

If you’re planning on turning your whole team Talon, why not go for a Blackwatch set and choose this great Legendary skin for Moira? This slick skin matches perfectly with similar skins available for Reaper, Mccree, and Genji, and represents when Moira was one of the active Blackwatch team members during ‘The Venice Incident’.

This is one of the best skins for showing off Moira’s golden weapons and is also a great skin for more dimly-lit levels where you may want to skulk off into the shadows. As a Legendary Archives skin, it will cost you 1,000 gold to unlock, but it can only be unlocked during the season.

9 Minister

Another lore-heavy skin for Moira is Minister. This skin is one of a pair that references when Moira moved to the Oasis and was subsequently made Minister of Genetics. It’s a great skin if you really want to look the part on your Oasis and University maps.

One of Moira’s more elaborate designs, Minister has a real regal feel to it and features a cosmic color set that relies heavily on blue and purple gradients. Both this skin and Oasis are Legendary skins and can be purchased year-round for 1,000 gold.

8 Moon

The first of two Glam rock-inspired Moira skins on this list is Moon. This skin, like its twin, references famous rock stars of the 1970s/1980s Glam Rock era, with Moon seemingly paying tribute to the darker side of Glam Rock (possibly KISS if we’re judging by the makeup).

Moon reuses a common color combination for Moira — purple and blue — but unfortunately, the dark textures in play make this skin come off just a little flat. Like Glam, this skin was a base Legendary released with Moira’s launch and as such can be purchased year-round for the price of 1,000 gold.

7 Ornate

Don’t get it wrong, yes, this is an Epic level skin, and yes, we are ranking it higher than a host of Legendaries, but hear us out! Ornate is an affordable and infinitely stylish skin for Moira, with lovely use of jewel tones (the emerald green, the royal purple, Moira’s signature red locks, the gold trim!), soft gradients in texture, and well-balanced highlights. There are lots of feature details (the Celtic knots in gold on her sleeves!), but none of them are too overpowering; there are lots of strong, bold colors, but it’s never too much.

It’s often difficult to get a real feeling of impact from an Epic skin as they can sometimes be just simple color or texture changes, but Ornate shows that you can have class and style for a really small amount. As an Epic, non-seasonal skin you can get Ornate for only 250 gold, year-round.

6 Oasis

The second of two base Legendary skins for Moira, Oasis shows Moira dressed for her position within Oasis University, as Minister of Genetics. Alongside this position, in-game lore has the Oasis as Moira’s base of operations for her secret dealings as a Talon inner-council member.

Oasis is just as good as Minister before it, however, the use of soft gold gradients overlaid onto the Minister design, paired with Moira’s golden weapon, really push this skin above its peer. It’s just a shame about that crown, which can make headshots all the easier to frame. Just like Minister, Oasis can be purchased year-round for 1,000 gold.

5 Glam

This is the other half of the pair of Glam rock-inspired skins. Glam is a bold tribute to Ziggy Stardust, the persona of legendary glam rock star David Bowie. This amazing skin has Moira dressed in pink and blue pinstripes under a bright orange bodysuit, complete with pink fringe and a collar so large it could make Elvis cringe.

Moira and David Bowie actually have more in common than just this skin in that they both have central heterochromia — eyes of different colors. It is unknown whether Moira was born with central heterochromia or whether it (and her damaged hand) was caused as a result of lab accidents or experiments gone wrong. As a launch Legendary skin, you can unlock Glam at any time for only 1,000 gold.

4 Mask Dancer

Mask Dancer is Moira’s Lunar New Year skin and has her dressed up as a Chinese mask dancer, ready to perform. This is (like many of Moira’s skins) quite a colorful skin and even features a rainbow pattern cascading down Moira’s arms.

As a Lunar New Year skin, this Legendary will cost you 1,000 gold to unlock — and you can only do so during the Lunar New Year update. It looks great paired with other Lunar New Year skins, such as those seen on Mei, D.Va, and Brigitte.

3 Holly

What makes a good skin? Is it the theme, the colors, the textures? Is it the references, the visual impact, the comedy? Or is it that when you see it, you’re so shocked that you can’t tell whether it’s terrible, or so-bad-its-good, and you feel your eyes start to cross? Whatever it is, Holly is quite simply, one heck of a skin.

Released as part of a weekly challenge during the 2019 Winter Wonderland season, Holly sees Moira in some of the loudest colors, with some of the strongest clashes, all dressed up for Christmas. Her hair is a startling green, and her sleeves are tipped in gold. It hurts to look at, but it’s just so good. Unfortunately, as a weekly challenge reward skin, it is unknown as to whether this skin will ever be offered for purchase in future events, so if you managed to get this absolute gift of a skin, make sure you treasure it!

2 Banshee

Coming close to the top is one of the best Halloween skins in the game: Moira’s Legendary Banshee skin. Released during the Halloween Terror season, this skin is unfortunately locked to Halloween, so you will have to wait to unlock it, and it will cost you 1,000 gold.

Seemingly visually inspired by World of Warcraft’s depiction of Undead, this skin also draws its roots from Moira’s global heritage. Irish mythology speaks of Banshees as fairy women who wail songs for the dead — and Banshees are also often thought of as harbingers of death itself. Pairing this background with a terrifically terrifying design makes Banshee a killer look, indeed.

1 Ice Empress

Saving the best till last, here is Moira’s Winter season Legendary — the Ice Empress. This (perhaps Narnia-inspired?) skin sees Moira clad in an icy raiment of pale blue, trimmed in silver and white fur. There are loads of details here — aspects that would rate it highly anyway. However, it’s Ice Empress’ ability to use such a plain palette of colors and not be, well, boring, that really sets it apart. It’s interesting to see how this skin appears to draw influence from Blizzard’s in-house style (as seen in, say, Wrath of the Lich King from World of Warcraft), but doesn’t fall into the usual ‘is that just a World of Warcraft character skin?’ trap.

Ice Empress is a Winter season-locked skin, so you will have to wait for colder months to access it, and it will then cost you 1000 gold. A dazzling skin on any map, this skin is particularly good on icy levels as Moira can blur into the snowy backgrounds.
