With everything in live entertainment essentially shut down, including the Overwatch League moving to an online format, content creators, photographers, etc… needed to find a new way to approach their craft. Overwatch League photographer, Robert Paul has been doing just that by taking incredible in-game captures during league matches.
Robert Paul has been a staple for the Overwatch League, capturing some of the most iconic moments in the league’s history. His work is typically of the highest standard and his ability to capture said iconic moments is something to be admired. With no live matches being played at the moment, Paul decided to shift things up a bit and began capturing new moments by utilizing the Overwatch League’s replay viewer.
Robert Paul shows off the power of sublime composition throughout his in-game “shots” of all the Overwatch League action fans could want. He is able to translate the excitement of each match through his captures while creating a visual feast for those looking to get as much league content in any form. His capture of Sigma/Hanzo during the Shanghai Dragons and Chengdu Hunters match is a work of art.
It’s unfortunate that incredible creators, like photographer Robert Paul have had no opportunities to capture all the insane live moments fans of the Overwatch League (and esports in general) could ask for because of the ongoing global pandemic. This hasn’t stopped him from composing some amazing shots by utilizing the league’s replay viewer to stunning results.
