Broken Fang, the newest CS:GO Operation, was unexpectedly released by Valve last night after only a couple teasing Tweets. This update comes one year after the previous Operation, Shattered Web, and brings in even more new content. With seven new maps, new agents, and a host of new weapon skins, Broken Fang is the biggest CS:GO Operation since 2017’s Operation Hydra.

New map Ancient is Operation Broken Fang’s most exciting feature; it’s been added to scrimmage, casual, and deathmatch game modes along with two other new maps. Ancient is set in a jungle-covered ruins, taking you back in history while you fight for control of two bombsites.

Along with Ancient, Engage and Apollo have also been added to scrimmage, deathmatch, and casual modes. Snow-covered map Frostbite will now be available to play in Danger Zone battle royale, while Guard and Elysion have been added to Wingman game mode. Autumn Harvest serves as the Operation’s co-op map.

Cache, an existing map that was taken out of the competitive map pool for a rework in 2019, has had some “excessive details” removed. Mutiny and Swamp have been removed from the map rotation as well.

In addition to new maps, Operation Broken Fang brings countless new agents for you to play as. Three new female agents join the game, including SWAT Commander Mae “Dead Cold” Jamison, SWAT First Lieutenant Farlow, and Getaway Sally, a member of The Professionals. The three join FBI Special Agent Ava, who was added to the game in Operation Shattered Web.

Four new skin collections have dropped as well, including the Broken Fang case, the Havoc Collection, the Control Collection, and the Ancient Collection. Broken Fang stickers have also dropped, along with new skill group patches to represent players’ rank. New graffiti options have also been added, some of which depict certain weapons’ recoil patterns.

Premier matchmaking has also been added, exclusive to Operation pass holders. A Retakes game mode has been added, as well as a new-and-improved ping system and a customizable chat wheel.

The Operation Broken Fang pass costs $15, and will give you access to all of the game’s new features and playable missions. Operation Broken Fang will run until April 30th, 2021.
