The third generation Pen offers the distinct advantage of a built-in flash that will inevitably broaden the fledgling Micro Four Thirds range’s appeal to a wider consumer base, as will the lower price point and simplified operation. The negatives are a more obviously plastic build than its predecessors, a smaller LCD screen, reduced light sensitivity and a degree of hand holding that may irk more skilled users. However none of the above are deal breakers, and viewed as a stand-alone product the E-PL1 is a very enticing proposition
