Support player Kim “Olleh” Joo-sung has parted ways with the Dignitas Academy League of Legends team, the organization revealed late yesterday. This move comes after only one Split with the Academy side, where the team finished in 3-4th place.
Kim “Olleh” Joo-sung made his initial move to North America after signing with Immortals in 2016, and later made his LCS debut with the team in 2017. The support player transferred to Team Liquid the following year, winning both the LCS Spring and Summer Splits in 2018. After a 9-12th placing at the 2018 World Championship, Olleh left the team for Golden Guardians.
After two lackluster Splits with Golden Guardians, Olleh signed with Dignitas Academy in early 2020. DIG Academy finished the LCS Academy League’s Spring Split regular season in second place, earning a first-round bye for the play-offs. The team finished the season in 3-4th place after falling to Evil Geniuses Academy in the semi-finals.
Olleh has now stated that he has been given permission to seek out other opportunities for the upcoming Summer Split. The Korean native explains that he can speak four languages, and is willing to move anywhere in the world to continue playing League of Legends. “I got my passion back. I am going to do my best,” the 25-year-old states. He goes on to say that he will retire if he doesn’t “make anything happen.”
The LCS 2020 Summer Split is slated to begin on June 13th.
