Back in 2018, Square Enix released Octopath Traveler as a Nintendo Switch exclusive, with the game going on to earn mostly positive reviews and win some awards. It was later ported to PC, and now Google Stadia users can see what all the Octopath Traveler hype is about.

As announced during the most recent Google Stadia Connect presentation, Octopath Traveler is now available on Stadia. The game was surprise-launched on the Stadia Store earlier today, available for $59.99. The game doesn’t appear to have any enhancements or new content that wasn’t available in the previous versions of the game, but those who want to be able to play Octopath Traveler literally anywhere they want may want to give it some consideration.

The Octopath Traveler Stadia port was actually leaked ahead of time by the ESRB. The ESRB issued a rating for the game before its official announcement, so some fans were well aware of its existence prior to the Stadia Connect presentation.

In the meantime, it will be interesting to see if future Octopath Traveler games come to Google Stadia. Square Enix has already confirmed that an Octopath Traveler sequel is in development, but it remains to be seen if it is coming to Stadia as well as the Nintendo Switch.

Octopath Traveler is out now for PC, Stadia, and Switch.
